My info

Oops! Sorry. I didn't see this until you emailed me. Here it is: == Lao-Tze's Tao Teh King illuminates The Tao: a guiding principle of the universe and all within it. By exploring the nature of dualities and complements, Lao-Tze dissects strength and weakness; presence and absence; life and death. T...

Is it okay with you if I start a thread in the Listeners Wanted forum to have folks proof-listen to these?
Sure, no sweat. Appreciated!

Unforeseen delays

Well, it didn't quite work out the way I planned. School has been hectic for me, and other things have come up to prevent my speedy completion. I am about halfway done, though, and my special lady friend is going out of town next week. So by Saturday, 4 February I should be all finished. Again, no p...

Chapters 1-27 done

The Tao Teh King has 81 chapters; I'm doing them in 9 files of 9 chapters apiece. Chapters 1-27 (first three files) are finished. I'm going to try to have them all finished by the end of the week (Jan. 21) -- but as a teacher I know better than to make promises about when I'll have extracurricular p...

Catalog listing

Perhaps on the catalog listing it's good to provide this alternate title? (Getting ahead of myself again..)

Yeah, I've always seen it that way too. But since that's listed in Gutenberg as the alternate title, I figure I'd best use the first one listed..

Filename and Lao-Tze's Name

So I'm wondering how to do the filenames for this one. Right now I have:

the_tao_teh_king_01-09_lao-tze.mp3

Is this right? Should I just use "lao" or "tze" for the author name?

COMPLETE: Tao Teh King, by Lao-Tze - NF/ll

All recordings can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/the-tao-teh-king-by-lao-tze/ I know I'm getting ahead of myself insofar as I've only volunteered for the one story (Pendulum), but I'd really like to do the Tao Teh King by Lao-Tze. Unless, of course, I'm a total moron and can't f...

Sure! Go for it, scartol! I'd love to hear that piece. It'd be perfect for a short story collection. I believe we also have someone doing The Teltale Heart. Welcome to LibriVox, scartol - it's always great to have a fresh voice around the place! Thanks.. Can anyone provide me a translation of this ...

From my floating brain to yours

Hello, everyone. I discovered LibriVox via MonkeyFilter , and I think it's a lovely project. (Like I need another one of those .) I have a blog at fbesp.org/blog , and I do a podcast (though I don't call it that because I hate to give free viral advertising to Apple) called the Deviant SynCast . I a...

Pit and the Pendulum

Can I call dibs on "The Pit and the Pendulum"? I looked around and can't see anyone claiming or having posted a finished version..
