Re: ~[LITERATURE] The Dream of the Red Chamber by Cao - ava
Thanks for the chart of modern pin yin, Jing. I'll do my best to be precise. You may find a difference in pronunciation once the semester begins, as I'm a non-traditonal student, and haven't studied Chinese since about 9 years, in high school, but will suddenly resume my studies this year, with a vi...

Thanks, Ava.
I'll wait for the guide! I'm participating in another project, so no worries.
Not sure who June is (??) I'm Kevin.

Re: Hello from Joisey! (just kidding)
Actually, come to think of it, a Maine woods accent would be an asset for reading.

Re: Hello from Joisey! (just kidding)
Welcome. I too live in a heavily accented portion of the NE (Maine,) but also don't have [much of] the regional accent from where I live or where I'm from. (Further down, near Boston.) Ain't we lucky???

That was fast. Good initiative!

Re: [OPEN] The Ghost Breaker by Goddard and Dicky (Not PD 70
Thanks very much. Here's another go with the mic: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/tests/sample2KMS.mp3 I tried using the internal microphone but had an annoying ring- I think it's reverb. So, i'm trying the headset with the boom way out. I'll try using Audacity to clean up the sound a littl...

Re: [OPEN] The Ghost Breaker by Goddard and Dicky (Not PD 70
Thanks, Linny. I would enjoy being the ship's captain. I have a voice prepared that I hope you will enjoy for the part. I'll try recording using my internal mic (as somebody else used an Acer laptop microphone with good success,) and will submit a follow up shortly, using the anticipated voice for t...

Hi. I'd like to play one of the ship's staff, if you please. It doesn't matter which. Anywhere from porter to Captain.
I can pull off a pretty decent British accent, optionally, tailored to fit the character.

Re: Hello from NEW England!!!
Interesting. I'll just be myself most of the time, though some dramatic roles tempt dialects to arise.

Hello from NEW England!!!
Greetings from Central Maine, USA, where I'll be reading with little or no regional accent from around here, but with accenture that is appropriate to a role, when necessary and possible. This primarily means adopting as much of a great British dialect as I can pull off, as many of the classic texts...
