Re: OPEN Ghost and Horror Story Collection Vol. 073 - rap

I don't feel strongly about it, as long as the info in the recording matches the text source used. It's an abstract convention to use the editor's name in the absence of an author's name. An alternative is to say "by anonymous", "by unknown" or leave it blank. Specifically for th...

Re: [OPEN] Multilingual Short Works Collection 036 - Poetry & Prose - thw

Check the ending silence. If I'm not mistaken, the Checker checks for the background noise in the last 5 seconds that are supposed to be room silence. So if the ending silence is not a full 5 seconds and checker gets some speech, or if there is a random click/bump in there, it might flag it for back...

Re: OPEN Ghost and Horror Story Collection Vol. 073 - rap

I don't see the Gutenberg text mentioning an author, so we'll keep as author w.bob Holland who was the collector/editor of the stories

Re: Javier Menteguiaga Voice Test #1

Comparing the two files, to me the first one sounds crisper (more treble), the second one is more muffled (more bass). If you are still waiting for more gear, give that another a try too, as it's important to hit the right volume.

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Re: OPEN Ghost and Horror Story Collection Vol. 073 - rap

Thank you, Katherine! Beautifully narrated! It's not unusual with old public domain stories to be taken and edited and redistributed altered, but for Librivox we need to use the original PD source, in this case the gutenberg text linked to below the story: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/53419/53419...
