Re: [Group] The Four Feathers by A. E. W. Mason - arb

I saw someone with a T-shirt message the other day:

"Don't judge a book by its movie!"

Very fitting for "The Four Feathers," I think.

Re: [Group] The Four Feathers by A. E. W. Mason - arb

Here is Chapter 33, TRT: 13:05

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/arb/fourfeathers_33_mason.mp3

This has been a most rewarding experience. I've equated this to a modern online version of a book club. Now, I guess it's time to find another book to start reading!

Thanks again!

Re: [Group] The Four Feathers by A. E. W. Mason - arb

Here's chapter 32:

My voice has not been 100% the last couple of days (I've had a sore throat). It's better today and I should be able to record and edit chapter 33 later tonight.

Tata for now!

Sorry, I've been in process of moving, so I don't have internet at home. I have Chapter 32 finished and I will upload it later today or tomorrow. I should get Chapter 33 finished by Wednesday.

Arb,

If you'd like, I can do Chapter 32 as I finish Chapter 33.

Chapter 3 is done! I had some trouble with name pronunciations on this one, I think I got them all correct, though.

Re: ~[Group] The Four Feathers by A. E. W. Mason - arb

I have recorded ch. 3 and I'm in the editing stage. I should have it up in a couple of days. I'll be glad to take one of the last two (or both) chapters if you like. To jollyrogered: I think if you remember the setting of the story (Victorian Age England) you may feel differently about Ethne. By tod...

Just a quick note to say I haven't forgotten Chapter 3. I've just been swamped with graduate school work and a new job. I should get Chapter 3 posted in a couple of weeks.

Re: ~[Group] The Four Feathers by A. E. W. Mason - arb

I found the imdb page on the 1978 version. It was made for TV and starred Beau Bridges, Robert Powell, Simon Ward and Jane Seymour as Ethne. It, also was made in the UK.

Re: ~[Group] The Four Feathers by A. E. W. Mason - arb

Lewis, Just a little FYI, there were 3 movies made, one in 1939 starring John Clements, Ralph Richardson, and C.Aubrey Smith, one in 1977 starring Beau Bridges, and one in 2002 starring Heath Ledger, Wes Bentley, and Kate Hudson. Both the 1939 and 2002 versions follow the book pretty well, but my pe...
