Here is the link to the file for section 18, Two Poems by Hall Caine. https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/sonnetsofthiscentury_018_various_128kb.mp3 A very nice reading indeed. Just one correction needed for "Where Lies the Land?" At 0:20, I hear “ Behind the wearied wold, the songless de...

Re: 'Thank You' messages for LibriVox readers - continued

I want to thank Ritu Aarcee for her excellent reading of An Introduction to Yoga by Annie Besant.   I was greatly impressed by her perfectly clear articulation which not only delighted me but made what could have been a difficult text easier to understand and pleasant to listen to...

Re: Commercial Use of Librivox Recordings

As I understand it, the fact that the scavengers ALTER the file is what allows them to copyright it. Slowing down the speed, adding music and sound effects, tweaking it in some minor way. The original, untouched file cannot be copyrighted. Nevertheless, minor tweaks ... I do still think that moving ...

Re: Fraudulent Copyright Claims on Youtube

It doesn't bother me when someone posts a work I have done on Librivox on YouTube or another platform as long as they don't try to profit from it. If one of my recordings shows up on YouTube and there is a commercial accompanying it, that means it is monatised, and someone is making a profit from a...

Copyright Question

I know this topic has enjoyed lively discussion, but I am still unclear about one issue: Can a third party claim a production copyright on LibriVox recordings? Can they do that with something that is in the public domain? Is it legal if they do nothing or very little to alter it? For example, if the...

Re: Lars Rolander has passed away.

So sad to hear of Lars' passing. He was such a kind, soothing soul, which came through clearly in his voice. I got the pleasure of his contributions to the LibriVox podcast and his insights and humanity always touched me. A great human being.

Re: [SOLO] "The Worshipper of the Image" Le Galliene-annise

I did not say it needs the full disclaimer, only that it definitely needs a disclaimer. I believe the abbreviated disclaimer is all right to use, isn't it, Anne? That shorter disclaimer should be in the first post.

Re: SOLO "The Worshipper of the Images" by Richard Le Gallie

Hi, Anne! I'd like Holly to get the full LibriVox experience for this independent study, so feel free to advise her as you would any other newbie. I'd like to wait for someone to volunteer to proof-listen, if possible. I will have some sessions with her to help with Audacity and recording (she has a...
