Re: Short Ghost and Horror Story Collection Vol. 020 -ba

Hi Bart & genierose. This is more a tale of how we scare ourselves than outright horror, but I hope is suitable for this collection. :) Title: Nerves Author: Anton Chekhov - translated by Constance Garnett (from Tales of Chekhov - vol.13 - Love & Other Stories). Source: http://www.gutenberg....

Re: Hello Everybody!

Hi Danny, Welcome to LV. You’ll need to do the ‘one-minute test’ which is not an audition, it’s simply to check that you’ve got your settings right for LV. Details are in the email you received or can be found by clicking on ‘LibriVox Wiki – Guides for Listeners & Volunteers’ at the very top of ...

Re: new to the idea

Hi there and welcome. There’s a free app for iphone/ipad called ‘Pocket Wavepad’ available on iTunes. It’s excellent both for recording and editing. Works in the formats required for LV and has simple effects such as ‘noise cleaning' and ‘normalization’. I’ve only used it with an iPad and suspect it...

Re: For everyone recording on an Apple tablet

OR, you can use the mic you've already got - through a USB adaptor (£10/$15). I've been using my Yeti with an ipad and no problems. http://www.editorskeys.com/ipad-microphone-connection-cable/?___store=uk or you can use the adaptor from the apple camera connector kit ($29). http://store.apple.com/us...

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

Ah - no - I meant the audiobooks section of the itunes player - I don't use the seperate app. I'll look forward to your reading of Bezhin Meadow - I didn't know Eisenstein changed it significantly from the book but thinking about it that's probably why he fell out of favour with Stalin... Do get a c...

Re: Newcomer reads 'The Raven'

Maybe it's just that your Castle is haunted by the Ghost of Mickey Mouse  OR I don't suppose you've done what I sometimes do which is accidently press the 2x box in the top right hand corner of the audiobook player on my iphone. There's a reconstruction of Eisenstein's film of Bezhin Meadow - ...

Re: New Member from Kansas

Hi Tim and Welcome to LibriVox. There are brilliant times to be had here and the folk are friendly. Everything points to 'A Bunch of Everlastings' being PD, but I would await an Administrator to OK it for LV. I may have missed something! In the interim first thing to do is record the 'one minute tes...

Re: Hello from Michigan

Hi and Welcome to LibriVox. You should have received an email with all the details to get started and there are activities that need volunteers as well as recording. You'll find there are plenty of Public Domain books that cover your areas of interest too that you may want to take a look at. Most im...

Hi Elizabeth and Welcome to LibriVox. As well as Pl'ing there are other things you may want to take a look at. Check out the 'Volunteers Wanted: Other Projects' Section. If you're of an artistic bent, then there's the artwork covers for books that need creating, also if you're of a more technical be...
