Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Thanks so much, Grace!

Goodness, I have no recollection of recording that, or the poem beneath it!
Perhaps it's time to dust down my lovely Blue Yeti.

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Phil's videos are great, and cover most (and possibly all!) the topics we need for smooth, stress-free recording.
I had a quick listen to your one minute test, without headphones. You have a lovely voice, Grace.

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Hello Grace, Welcome to Librivox from someone who hasn't recorded here for a while. You have spent a lot of time and energy in this thread, I wonder if you have come across the lovely Phil Chenevert aka our Video Guy? Here is a link to his videos, I'm sure they will help ;) https://wiki.librivox.org...

Hello sacredsounds,

I was very surprised to see Phil Chenevert's dilemma pasted in your post - and then saw that it was from 2012. Phil's now our 'Video Guy'!
You'll find the answer to lots, if not all your queries here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos

Wise teachers, Claudia! There you have the secret

Re: Making your reading sound Great

Hi lcastleb1

I've just checked the feedback you were given by Tony123 on 24th December.
Has something changed? If so, perhaps you would post another one minute test and explain your concerns.

Hi Vivian,

There are lots to choose from, and everyone will have their own favourite!
You might like to have a listen to the 'Microphone Showdown' recordings:

Good luck!

Welcome Bubba,

Here's the link for your 'one minute test': viewforum.php?f=21

You'll receive lots of friendly advice there, but I will just say that I hope you'll learn to like the 'techy stuff' - it comes in very handy if
you want to record and edit! ;)

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Does Audacity recognize your mic? It should show in the little box above. If not, go to
Control panel --> Hardware & Sound --> Manage Audio Devices --> Recording

Another hint - make sure you mic is plugged into computer before opening Audacity.

Hope this helps,

May I just add to gypsygirl's suggestion that your cursor needs to be in the centre of the red record bottom at the top first?
