It works!! It appears as a code when I write but becomes a smiley when I post the message - thanks for your help .

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm still stuck - options are unmarked and the smilies still don't appear (I have added one below but as you see there's only the code). Mystery...

I love smilies but don't seem to be able to include them in my messages - all I get is a code, not a picture. Can anyone tell me why?
