Re: [FICTION] - Death at the Excelsior, and Other Stories, by P.G. Wodehouse -jo

Someone's giving me a new-ish laptop this Saturday, so I'll be back as soon as I can use it (Chromebook -- apparently an operating system that's neither Windows nor Apple ) It's HORRID to have no computer! I'd rather go without dessert for the rest of my life! 8-) See you soon. 8-) That is saying q...

Re: SOLO - Lord Peter Views the Body, by Dorothy L. Sayers - tg

My computer donor is my super-tech "ex", who tells me Chromebooks are serious improvements on PCs and MACs (lighter, faster, and so on). And get this: he's giving me TWO :!: -- one to sell, so I can repair Ernie, my 26 year old Honda. 8-) (He's changed jobs thrice in four years, and was gi...

Re: SOLO - Lord Peter Views the Body, by Dorothy L. Sayers - tg

My fall back computer just died also. That means I can't record the text because I can't read it.

Still searching for solutions.

Re: [FICTION] - Death at the Excelsior, and Other Stories, by P.G. Wodehouse -jo

Hello, me again. After my computer died, i found a fall back computer - which also died, so i can't read the text to record on my phone. I'm working on finding a way to print the text off sometone else's computer. I wish I had the resources to get another computer and get back in the saddle on this ...

Re: SOLO - Lord Peter Views the Body, by Dorothy L. Sayers - tg

A question you raised, which I didn't respond to, has to do with whether the crossword puzzle clues and answers are read separately or together. Sayers relegates the answers not just to the end of the chapter but to the miscellanea at the very end of the book. I cannot but imagine that anyone writin...

Re: SOLO - Lord Peter Views the Body, by Dorothy L. Sayers - tg

Brilliant suggestions all. To be clear, I'll add a fourth section to the chapter 3 collection of sections, in which I literally paste exactly the listing of the crossword clues across and down, that is, I'm duplicating that section which is currently in chapter 3 part 2. And on top of that I will sp...

Re: SOLO - Lord Peter Views the Body, by Dorothy L. Sayers - tg

Hi TG, Chapter 3, which is sections 4, 5, 6, in MW ready for PL. Two notes for you: First , they're replacing the roof on my apartment building, which involves much noise sometimes and some noise all the time. True, they do quit at 4:30, but that's when the neighbors bustle up and down halls and yel...

Hello dear. Posted chapter 2 but, being moi, I loaded the version with a 3 word repeat toward the end. I'm going to upload the corrected version tomorrow, but thought you might want to know. That I know. :?

Re: SOLO - Lord Peter Views the Body, by Dorothy L. Sayers - tg

I just got hold of a 25 year old (!) laptop which allows me to read the text and edit using an old version of Audacity. I'm using my phone to record. I'll have to find a computer to upload files, since this ancient one can't handle that. But the point is, I'm working on it! Again, thanks for your pa...
