Well, for one thing, the noise removal on Audacity 1.3 is much better than the old one. I also found that I can hold this microphone quite close to my mouth without getting much plosive noise. To amplify the sound, I just did the duplicate thing that was suggested in the volume thread. So I guess I'...

loudness

Scott: I read the thread about sound volume, and did a brief experimental recording, in Audacity 1.3 Beta. I actually think it sounds pretty good, and it should be about right in terms of the volume. You can give it a listen here: www.jimcadwell.com/intro.mp3 As for the microphone, it is, well, very...
Sure, Jim! Glad to have you! One note: I listened to some of your past work and found it a little soft. See if you can make sure you record as loudly as possible, because in a dramatic work, I will be pasting your voice next to the other actors' voices. It sounds a lot be...

I just noticed that there were already several versions of the Gettysburg Address in the catalog, but I had recorded this one a while ago, and I never got around to posting it until now. I just figured one of you moderator people could put it in with the other versions. It's just been a while since ...

COMPLETE: The Gettysburg Address - NF/law

This project is complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/the-gettysburg-address-by-abraham-lincoln-3/ 1293 (Admin link) I re-recorded it the way you suggested, though the quality is not quite as good, because I don't have the same microphone. Here's the new ve...

I want to reclaim chapters 7 and 8, if I'm allowed. I am now unemployed, and will thus be able to get them done. I will get them done by next Thursday, I promise.

Ok, I got them done ahead of shcedule. I guess having a laptop to take on the road with me and a decent microphone are helpful things. I re-did the Bill of Rights and Amendments 11-13, so as they should all sound the same. The files are here http://jimcadwell.com/bill_of_rights.mp3 http://jimcadwell...

Still here

I am still planning to finish the amendments. I've just been a bit busy, and I need to get a new microphone. But rest assured, they will be done. Sometime. I will officially set a goal date to finish, which will help me, and that date will be the Ides of May. It is fortunate that I am not like Dougl...

COMPLETE: [LATIN] Psalmi XXII - OL/ge

This project is complete and can now be accessed on the LibriVox catalogue: http://librivox.org/biblia-sacra-vulgata-psalmi-xxii/. I just wanted to be the first to do something in Latin, so here it is. In English versions of the Bible, it is Psalm 23, but in the Vulgate, for some reason, it's 22. I...

The source I used is http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.overview.html which is what I have long looked to when I was online and needed to look at the Constitution, which is more often than you might think. I also have a little booklet version that I keep handy and refer to when I h...

All recordings can be found on the catalog page: http://librivox.org/amendments-to-the-united-states-constitution-version-2/ I was a little disappointed when I saw that someone had already done the Constitution, but I did get to do the Declaration of Independence, and I guess the work on the ...
