Re: 1-minute test: Patrick Regan

LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate MP3, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86dB and 92dB, preferably 89-90. Your test audio is in stereo. There is also a bit too ...

Re: Audio editor for Chromebook?
Looks like there still isn't an audio editor that will run on a Chromebook and that online web-based editors are the only option. The only ones I've come across that can output audio for LibriVox is AudioMass and TwistedWave (which is a subscription).

Re: How to avoid the "I'm reading" voice
Some basic things you can practice right away: 1. Avoid down-inflections at the ends of phrases and sentences. We learn this in grammar school, but it is not normal speech. We usually just speak until the end of the message, and then stop speaking. There is rarely that down-inflection, which is a su...

Re: SOLO Galactic Patrol by E. E. Smith (version 2)
Could you please submit a 1 minute test as per your welcome email so you can get your recording settings right for us - it's much easier for you to resubmit a under 1 min sample than to rerecord a whole chapter. You are on you own jumping straight into an over 9 hour solo with no LV experience - so...
