Re: 1 Minute Test - mattm

Hi Matt

Sounds good and meets all the specs. You are good-to-go. Happy narrating!

BTW, your background noise level is perfectly fine. Do not apply additional noise removal or you risk audio distortion.

Re: SOLO Last Call For Sector 9G by Leigh Brackett - pc

Section 2 PL notes There are 3 minor mis-reads, which really don't affect the meaning, so up to you if you want to edit: 4:29 They were always hard, always making a liar out of that pliant, generous mouth. Second always omitted. 8:51 " God, no . Not nearly." Said Oh, God ... 16:23 "Well," he said. "...

Re: One Minute Test

Hi Wade

Okay, you've solved the noise problem, so I'm going to okay you to start recording for real. Happy narrating!

I still think your space needs more dampening and less reverb, so you might try to work on that down the line.

Cheers!

Re: One Minute test Richard Enders (German)

Hi Richard

Both your tests pass, and they sound about the same, so use whichever mic you want.

You are good-to-go. Happy narrating!

Re: 1-Minute Test

Hi Beedle As you already know, your test passes but has excessive background noise. The volume is just under the max of 92db at 91.8. The ideal is 89-90, so try to bring down your volume a bit. If the noise is outside traffic there's nothing you can really do except use software noise reduction. It ...

Re: One Minute Test

Hi Connemara Your sample does meet all the specs, except for volume, which is as you know, a bit too high. The range is 86-92db, preferably 89-90. First, you sound very close to your mic. You should be about 8 to 12 inches away, with the mic above or to the side so you don't breath into it. Your Rod...

Re: One Minute Test

Hi Surname I reviewed your test sample and some changes are needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Your audio is 161kbps variable bit rate and in stereo. There also appears to be excessive background ...

Re: I hope I've posted a test

Hi Your Name I reviewed your test sample and some changes are needed. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate, 44.1kHz sample rate, mono, and between 86db and 92db, preferably 89-90. Your audio is 95kbps variable bit rate, much tooo soft at 78.1db and has excessive background noise...

Re: 1- minute test by castley

Hi Leyna I reviewed your test, and while it sounds very good, it does not meet LibriVox technical requirements. You will not be able to use GarageBand for LibriVox recordings unless you then convert your files with other software. LibriVox requires audio that is 128kbps constant bit rate, 44.1kHz sa...

Hi James Your test sounds good and meets all LV specs except that it is 192kbps instead of 128. When exporting your MP3 from Audacity, be sure to check Bit Rate Mode - Constant, then select 128kb from the pull-down menu, and check Force Export to Mono. You can pre-check your audio yourself by downlo...

Re: One Minute Test

Hello Wade I reviewed your sample, and the main technical specs are all correct, however two areas need addressing. First, there is an extreme amount of background noise. It needs to be reduced by 10-15db. Try to isolate your mic from the noise, such as computer fan. If that isn’t entirely successfu...
