Re: [SOLO] The Malay Archipelago, Volume 1-ans
I hope they have changed...a lot. Is it being political to discuss values and ethics around guns? To some, surely. Naturalists don't research primates or warm blooded animals with lethal guns anymore (I think) but certainly many other sorts of creatures are researched by killing them. I'm thinking ...

Re: [SOLO] The Malay Archipelago, Volume 1-ans
Hi Anne and David -- I'd like your opinions please. Chapter IV is pretty long -- it would be over 1 hour if submitted as one file (I'm just starting to sound edit it). I can easily enough turn it into two files if that is a better idea. The same is likely for Chapter V and Chapter XVII -- although n...

Re: [SOLO] The Malay Archipelago, Volume 1-ans
Hi Again -- Chapter 01 has been recorded and is ready for the magic of PLing. https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/malayarchipelago1_01_wallace_128kb.mp3 44:25.2, 88.6 dB. Re: [SOLO] A First Year in Canterbury Settlement by Samuel Butler - annise
11 PL OK. Finished! A fun listen. It's clearly not identified as a new chapter. Btw, the time in the MW needs to be corrected. Thank you! Will correct the MW. The history of Mesopotamia Station is interesting -- starting with S. Butler of course, and according to a 1990 NZGeo article, he was then s...

Re: [SOLO] A First Year in Canterbury Settlement by Samuel Butler - annise
Hi Again Anne and David -- I have finished reading "A first year....." However, I've diddled around a bit and I'm afraid made a bit of extra work for you, Anne. I no longer need Section 12, unless David decides that I really should record/produce "Crossing the Rangitata" as a sep...

Anne -- do you want to do the cover, or shall I?
Cheers

Re: [SOLO] A First Year in Canterbury Settlement by Samuel Butler - annise
Hi Again Anne and David -- I think that I have found a worthy book to read, and it's not been read for L'vox yet and doesn't seem to be underway. It is Sketches of Naples, a travel book by Alexandre Dumas pere. Of course, I haven't read it yet, so don't know whether it is actually worthy or not, but...
