Re: (SOLO) Mark Twain, A Biography - dlo

Seeing as I was signed in here anyways, I thought to look what's going on. Glad to see another Twain book on the way...

Re: A bad beginning to 2015

Thank you everyone. Both my mom and son are recorded here at LV. I did a podcast with mom years ago. I don't have the energy to search for it now but I'm sure Kara or Cori can find it. My son was part of another podcast with his friends shouting HURRAY! Was proud to share my family with you. Esther

A bad beginning to 2015

Hello all my LV friends. I have been absent for far too long and a PM came to me thanking me for my readings. This brings me back here to give you some sad news. Many of you know I came here when my mom was going blind to find audiobooks for her. She passed away peacefully Jan 25, 2015. Also, my 22 ...

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org

Hi Ava,

In light of the Franklin ship discovery, may I suggest https://librivox.org/in-the-arctic-seas-by-francis-mcclintock/ as a spotlight item?

Do we have any other books about Franklin? I seem to recall some but have not found them in my searches.

This looks really interesting.

Can you shoot me a PM when you are finished please? (We used to have email notifications but it had security issues so it went the way of the DODO.)

Re: hardware question usb soundcard

I've done a test with a crappy analog mic using a USB adapter and without. It definitely made a difference with the adapter. The adapter itself costs about $5 Canadian.

Re: Replacing my microphone

I highly recommend the Zoom H2. I never record in front of my computer anymore as it's fan is really noisy! I read from a real book or an ipod. I love that I can move around the house to find the quietest places to record. It's also great if you are traveling.

Re: Suggest a "Staff Pick" for archive.org

Ava can I suggest something to do with the war of 1812? Since this is the 100th yr anniversary of our war with the US. I was thinking of making it the spotlight item for June. :) http://librivox.org/chronicles-of-canada-volume-14-the-war-with-the-united-states-a-chronicle-of-1812/ ....snip.... " Th...

Re: Librivox Book Club: Jezebel's Daughter

The trip will take about 16.5 hours and I'm leaving monday morning at 6 am and hope to arrive at my destination before midnight. Since this book is 11.5 hours, it should fit in there nicely. There are miles and miles of road where I get no radio signal so this will keep me awake. I think I...
