EXCEPT that our search function doesn't search the individual catalog pages on wordpress (aka our website) but rather the database we have behind the whole thing and which is entirely separate from the website. So... no wordpress plugin doing anything here I'm afraid.

Anne, if you make the pdf using MS word, you can just add an image underneath the text of the word document. I presume that's what Bengt means with "text overlay". See for example my pdfs for the "Science History": https://librivox.org/the-science-history-of-the-universe-vol-1-by...
