Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 103 - jo

Thanks for the PLing, Sue. I'll consider making the change, I'm definitely OCD enough for that. ;-) Yes, Fermat's Theorem has been proved by Andrew Wiles in 1993, and he promptly (and deservedly) got famous for it. He worked on it for 10+ years, solo and without telling anybody to boot, which is ext...

Re: [FULL][Verse Drama] The Ring of the Nibelung by Richard Wagner - rr

Brian, if you'd prefer me to change the whole line to sound more "joyful", rather than include the laughter, I can certainly do that. It's your project, I don't mind either way, honestly. Just let me know. Yes, we admins did come up with that limit on DRs for a reason, and it wasn't "...

Hi Brian, here's a quick take on the "joyful laughter", which doesn't sound very joyful to me. I'm really better at maniacal cackling, witch that I am. https://librivox.org/uploads/redrun/nilung_brunnhilde_joyfullaughter.mp3 Valkyrie part is in progress, thanks for your patience!...

Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 103 - jo

Back to my roots! Here is my contribution, an early (fairly popular) account on Fermat's Last Theorem, or A Few Classic Unknowns in Mathematics by Prof. G. A. Miller taken from The Scientific Monthly, October to December, 1915 https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/987 https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyourave...

Re: Most popular public domain works in LV?

I thought I had done a staff picks list dedicated to this, but I can't find it at the moment.

If you use as a measure "most different language versions", Jules Verne comes out on top; I believe it's the "in 80 days around the world".

Ja. It's easiest to make up your own melodies for the songs (he sings to himself when drunk if I remember correctly). Another option is to look for public domain melodies, but we'd like to see proof of that (publication dates etc.) Don't worry too much about matching the pieces that are spo...

Re: Podcasting?

Hi there and welcome to LibriVox! It's always nice to hear what our projects inspire! However, I'm afraid you're not coming to the right place with your questions. As far as I know, nobody on here (at least not among the admins) is a lawyer specializing in copyright issues, so whatever we tell you w...

Looks like you still need a "Hermit Mother" in sections 7,8?
It might take a while, but I'm up for it! :D

Hoi Hein - and welcome to LV! I haven't spoken Dutch in years, I'm quite rusty, but I know that most of you are super comfy with English, so here we go! The role is all yours, enjoy! When contributing to a play, the rules are a bit different than compared to "normal" projects, but everythi...

Here is Brunnhilde in Siegfried and the Twilight: https://librivox.org/uploads/redrun/niblung_brunnhilde_siegfried.mp3 https://librivox.org/uploads/redrun/niblung_brunnhilde_twilight.mp3 And it only took her 6 months to get over this Siegfried guy and get her revenge...
