Re: Clicking Sound

For these sort of things, it's best to use the tests folder, because it is cleared out regularly. Unless this is some noise caused by a pending alien invasion, no need to keep this for all eternity. But still, Peter is right: Best to upload a sample and try to find out what causes those click...

Re: New! Volunteer CD Covers! - cont.

Anne, I understand, however, I thought the license took care of the need to gain consent. I'll redo the cover. Thank you. Very cool picture! Love the look of hers! If you click on "Learn more" next to the CC0 licence, you get a In no way are the patent or trademark rights of any person affected by ...

Re: BC Readiness Quiz Questions

The easiest way to find out the tech specs is indeed by downloading the file and using checker. It is not necessary for you as the BC to do it, if your DPL checks the specs, but you should make sure that's the case because it's necessary to have them correct for cataloging. To change the specs (clip...

Ja, das hast Du richtig verstanden.

US Copyright sagt mittlerweile "alles, was VOR 1924 publiziert wurde, ist automatisch PD".
Fuer Deutsches/Europaeisches Copyright gilt nach wie vor "Autors Todesjahr + 70".

Hier musst Du Dich an beides halten, bitte.

Re: Credit for editors of plays / DRs

Making a full cast list before cataloging (which may or may not include the DPLs and editors) is the responsibility of the BC. I think it is nice to have it written down on the catalog and archive pages because the only thing you can see as readers on the catalog page is "group" in each section, whi...

Re: Short Nonfiction Collection, Vol. 063 - jo

I have recorded a very short piece, an entry from the Encyclopedia Brittanica and will upload in a day or two. Honestly, I find the speed at which the SNF is filling up lately very...concerning?? I mean, I'm happy that the collection as a whole is getting more recognition and all, but I now have to ...

Re: Credit for editors of plays / DRs

What can I say? I value the work of other volunteers, whatever role they take. You are broadening it out here and my answer, again, is that I think people should get more credit if they want it. The fact that you brought this up when I only asked about editor credit suggests that you agree that som...

Re: Credit for editors of plays / DRs

In the recordings? I don't like this idea. I do get it though: editing is one of the most time-consuming jobs you can have at a play and especially DR. It's understandable that there are people who want to be recognised publicly. (Personally, I don't care for that.) - Where do you want to put that i...

Here's the narrator for "A Day Well Spent", some 16 minutes long. No noisecleaning.

No wonder this is not going anywhere, half of the time people are talking "aside".

Re: Covermakers Chat Thread

I have linked it in the top post of the main cover thread where "public domain" is mentioned. It's not really 100% the same issue, but it does help.
