Re: need advice for new project possibility

I'm quite sure that any "list of top 100 significant historical persons" will not be universally accepted as correct.
So: Do what you like.

A sorting by era/birth/death date sounds reasonable.

Cats, anyone?

I love cats and I am slightly miffed that I can't have a cat in this apartment. And now even more so, when I found out that even the internet has a cat:

Re: need advice for new project possibility

We've had some obituaries in the nonfiction collection (I've read one myself), but not a full collection. https://librivox.org/search?q=obituary&search_form=advanced It might be fun to see what you can find; I would guess that important historical figures would get more than one obituary in differen...

Hi Nina and welcome to this project! Carolin is a bit busy, so I'm helping out here. I see that you have already gotten an [OK] for your test, that's perfect. Section 4 is all yours! The first post tells you everything you need to know, and if you have questions, just let me know! Have fun ...

Definitely, all yours!

Those tubes are actually still being used! One of my doctors uses them to send all sorts of stuff back and forth in his office. 8-)

Re: Short Nonfiction Collection Vol 069 - jo

This eruption (together with the one of Mt. Iwaki in April of the same year) worsened what is now known as the Great Tenmei Famine (1782 - 1788) with estimated deaths from 20000 - 920000 (probably depending on how/where you count). Nowadays, Japan's volcanoes are carefully monitored and there is a w...

It's not extreme at all, and especially in the first section with Mommy present and everything, I think it's okay. And maybe it's the first time Charlotte is doing the teachy-stuff. It's hard to deduce how old Charlotte is in comparison to Ellen, but as I said: you're her (older?) cousin, not her go...

It's okay, just a wee bit over the 2 months, thank you! :D

You can always ask for an extension if you see that you're running late and you still want to record the claimed sections. Better to ask than to have the section orphaned and assigned to somebody else.

Re: ~[DR - Instruction] The Artist, or Young Ladies' Instructor in Painting, Drawing... - availle

Since we don't have a DPL at this point, I have to do the PLing myself for now, which will take a bit longer than usual I'm afraid. I'm very busy at work, and my environment is rather noisy at the moment. It's actually quite hard to find half an hour of quiet time to PL this against the text... Anyw...
