Re: [COMPLETE] "Silent Night" - Christmas Carol Collection 2018

Merry Christmas to the Chorus, the Guitarist HannahMB, the Guide Vocalist JayKitty76, and the Choir Director/Editor Twinkle88! :D This recording was brilliant! Cheers especially to Twinkle for bringing all of our asynchronously-recorded voices together as one. (I attempted the Hallelujah Chor...

Re: [COMPLETE] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2018 - tg

Merry Christmas, Everyone! :D This was another wonderful Christmas Carol Collection! Cheers to everyone who made this compilation possible! I listened while wrapping presents and writing cards. I am happy to have been a part of this LibriVox tradition for the past 10 holiday seasons, including this ...

Yes, it wasn't until trying to record this song that I realized how difficult it is to sing! I wasn't sure if it was "supposed" to be sung at a certain key, but I went out on a limb and lowered it a couple notes.
I love your recording, just voice and piano. It's brilliant!

Re: [GROUP SONG] "Silent Night" - Christmas Carol Collection 2018

As it is still the 15th here, I hope I made it in time. I recorded a lower octave vocal and a higher octave vocal. Low octave: https://librivox.org/uploads/cori/silentnight_deramos_low_octave.mp3 High octave: https://librivox.org/uploads/cori/silentnight_deramos_high_octave.mp3 Excellent call...

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2018 - tg

Thanks for the compliments! :9: My dog's name is Kate, and I think this is her second contribution on here. She barked on my recording in ... Christmas 2015? This time, she not only barked, she also "played" the squeaky ball in the first half of the song. 8-) Okay, studio magic let her squeak ...

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2018 - tg

Hi, Everybody! :D This is my tenth year in a row  contributing to the holiday compilation. I might have run out of Christmas carols by now, so I recorded the one for the week after. "Auld Lang Syne" was in It's a Wonderful Life , so it totally counts as a Christmastime song. Hopefully. :hmm: ...

Re: [GROUP] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2017 - r

With two days to spare, that just might be a record for me! :D This is technically "O Little Town of Bethlehem," with the "St. Louis" melody. I had recently learned (or maybe re-learned, but I don't remember :hmm:) that many people also sing the "Forest Green" melody for this song, so I added a bit ...

Re: [GROUP] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2017 - r

Is this the forum for this year's Christmas carols, or is it in the short works forum? :hmm:

Cheers,
Ryan

Re: Automatic "Copyright Claim" When Posting LibriVox Audio

We can't stop that but most of the ones I've seen don't - and it does advertise LibriVox (even if half of them spell it wrongly) If it makes people feel better - we do get a number of emails from people complainig about being charged for things , and I do suggest that is they are unhappy they conta...

Re: Automatic "Copyright Claim" When Posting LibriVox Audio

Welcome to the world of public domain - they can do what they want with the recordings. If the license was creative commons then it would be a problem, but it isn't. Kim I have no problem with anyone trying to sell our recordings; claiming copyright over unmodified public domain work is the problem...

Re: Automatic "Copyright Claim" When Posting LibriVox Audio

Thanks for the info regarding Audible! I couldn't find "Jones Reading Company" or "AB Entertainment" (Jones' "record label") on Audible, but they have re-released and claimed copyright over LibriVox audiobooks and music on Amazon, Spotify, CD Baby, iTunes, and other places that sell mp3s. I wish the...

Automatic "Copyright Claim" When Posting LibriVox Audio

Hi everyone! Long time, no see (except during this time of year)! Minutes ago, I uploaded a video on Instagram with audio from the 2010 Christmas Carol Collection that I recorded and donated to the public domain. I was instantly given a "copyright claim" notice that "Jones Reading Company" owns the ...

Re: [GROUP, MULTI, MUSIC] Christmas Carol Collection 2016 -

Hi, Everyone! Happy Christmastime! I hope I can have something ready by Sunday. I'm going to attempt "Angels We Have Heard on High" a few minutes from now. The Christmas Carol Collection is literally the only thing I record for LibriVox, every year. If I can't record something this year, I a...
