Re: News about Kara Shallenberg (kayray)

Kara, My fondest wishes, I hope things are as painless and as peaceful as possible for you. Thank you so much for everything you've done for LibriVox. I once interviewed you for the 5th Anniversary Podcast and I remember you were very helpful and interesting. I also remember listening to your record...

Alternate Files for a Long Abandoned Solo

Back many years ago now, I started a Solo (365 Foreign Dishes) and never completed it. I dropped out of touch with LibriVox, the solo was orphaned and eventually finished by someone else. It is catalogued here: https://librivox.org/365-foreign-dishes-by-unknown/ However I always wanted, for my own s...

Music featuring my reading of The Red Flower

Just thought I'd pop by to let you know I received a message from someone named Gabriel, who has transformed my reading of The Red Flower by Henry Van Dyke into a music track. You can have a listen for yourselves here: https://soundcloud.com/gabriel-frahm I think it's pretty awesome - I love seeing ...

Re: Sad news about my father Andy Minter

My deepest condolences.

Andy's voice always brings a smile to my face whenever I encounter it in something I am listening to.

I am especially fond of The Three Christmas Masses from The Christmas Short Works Collection 2008, which is part of my regular Christmas listening.

Re: What did you/ will you eat for dinner today?

Every other week I get a food box delivered by Hello Fresh. It contains 3 recipes and the ingredients needed to make them. It is supposed to be 3 meals for 2 people, which is enough food for 6 days for just me. So I get to try new dishes that I wouldn't have thought of on my own, without the bother ...

Section 1, L'Envoi: Now PL OK! Sections 4, 5 & 7: Now PL OK! Your voice is matched perfectly, I can't tell the difference. Also the plosive is now unnoticeable. (I've found this technique is brilliant for getting rid of plosives. It's a little fiddly to set up, but so worth it.) Sections 23 – 2...

Re: DR Recordings - for the Reader or Editor to "fix"?

I think it is a lot better for individual readers to do their own noisecleaning, (and other post recording clean up work) as they know the settings that are most effective for them. (In general, each reader will use slightly different NC settings.) I didn't ask for that when doing Inspector General,...
