Re: [Kids] The Silver Bear by Edna Adelaide Brown - lt

Chapter 11 - everything sounds good, just make sure there is 5 seconds of silence at the end. There is about 2.5 right now. Sorry. I guess I had it zoomed in and counted half seconds instead of seconds! :) I've uploaded the updated version: https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/silverbear_11_brown_12...

Section 11 is ready. https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/silverbear_11_brown_128kb.mp3 Length is 13:32 I hope we get some more volunteers soon! (I know what you mean, but it really was raining in my area, today—but the reason I chose that section was because it was the longest and I wanted to read t...

Awesome, everyone. Thanks for all your work.

It's great to know we're working on The Silver Bear now, too. :)

Re: [Kids] The Chinese Kitten by Edna Adelaide Brown - lt

So, I discovered the other day that The Chinese Kitten appears to be a sequel to The Silver Bear (which was published and copyrighted a year earlier). Or if it's not a sequel, it shares characters (e.g. Lucy and Dora Merrill, and Uncle Dan). The Silver Bear, August 1921 (Illustrator: Antoinette Ingl...

Re: [Kids] The Chinese Kitten by Edna Adelaide Brown - lt

Chapter 8: 9:25 - I'm not sure if you just tried to cut out the noise, but it now has a double d sound almost like a stumble, sounds like it jumps, and then there is still a noise on "here am I, showing you just (noise)", that was mentioned at 9:28 since you cut out the double part at :21) 9:40 - t...

Shasta already read the Christmas one (even though it says Thanksgiving). I just checked to make sure.
Thank you... I am away from my computer and unable to check these things this evening
Would you be prepared to read Thanksgiving?
Sure! :) Thanks!

Re: [Kids] The Chinese Kitten by Edna Adelaide Brown - lt

I'm willing to take section 13. I noticed that in the magic window section 13 is labeled Christmas when it should say Thanksgiving, and section 14 is labeled Thanksgiving, but it should be Christmas (the recording for section 14 is read for the right chapter, though). Thank you. I can rename sectio...

Books by Amanda Minnie Douglas

I'd like to suggest works by Amanda Minnie Douglas . They should all be public domain, since they were all published years before 1923. I haven't actually read any of them, yet, but they seem to have received high praise and are of historical importance. I've done some research to find out all of he...

Alice Turner Curtis's catalog entry

There seemed to be very little known about Alice Turner Curtis: see https://librivox.org/author/2455 So, I did a lot of research and found out a lot of stuff about her and her family members. At least some of that information should probably go in her catalog entry. To see what I've discovered (incl...

Re: computer generated text-to-speech

How would we prove it? And what would someone gain by generating them and giving them away ? Anne … Lastly, I can envision a reader who is bored silly by the proofing and editing process for their recorded files. If he let's the computer do it, then it will be "word perfect" every time, you see. A ...
