I recorded the test on a stereo channel and then exported it as mono. I'm asking if it's okay because recording it on mono channel seems to have drastically change the quality of the sound. If I set it up to mono channel before the recording, I sound like Darth Vader essentially.

Recording software is Audacity. I'm using a windows laptop, and mic is Conexant smartaudio.

Hello
I like reading, so I wanna try out recording stuff. I really like the idea of narrating books for everyone can listen to. If I get used to recording, I would like to sections about politics or philosophy.
