Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Quite ok. I miss plenty myself and am not one with room to judge. Let me get through finals and grades before I start editing. Keep going and I'll pick it up changes to chapters as a batch.

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Ch. 31-41 ch. 32 Note h refers to another incorrect name “Joseph Smith 1” is read correctly as “Joseph Smith—Matthew” ch. 32 endnotes I think I corrected note 4 von Mosheim reference to the text as written; and the Fausett in note 5. ch. 33 Inspired version references. Endnote 1, I think I returned ...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

For ch.1-30 and notes ch. 2 This chapter is the first where abbreviations to scriptural volumes (B. of M. for Book of Mormon, and P. of G. P. for Pearl of Great Price) are dropped, so that a scripture reference is read directly to book, chapter, and verse, like Biblical citations. This is followed f...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Acknowledging and with grateful thanks to mleigh's effort here as PL, I've uploaded the entire set of files for Jesus the Christ, chapters 1-42, with notes and the front matter. In terms of what follows, I've rolled all this past the BC, TriciaG, who suggested providing a chapter-by-chapter summary ...

NEW The Father and the Son - Saunders

"The Father and the Son," is an 8-page 1916 doctrinal statement by the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It addresses four roles of Jesus' divine authority. The audio is recorded (abt. 30m) and edited. Just need project approval and a place to upload it.

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

(show of ignorance) How do I do that properly? Still figuring out the system, or trying to.

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Me, again. Used the weekend to update notes and clean up files. Assuming the MC gets to the bottom of this long missive and agrees, will start posting files for PL later this weekend. A couple of updates affecting the audio: most importantly, I've lost access to the university's digital recording sy...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

I am, but priority has been given to reading a recent book of mine for the publisher. Recording for that one is done and I'm editing, but the term has also begun again, so classes get priority priority. Mea culpa. Finding time to re-listen to the whole work to catch the reversions to the old note fo...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Well then, I have some editing to do to put back in BC/AD. Of more concern is the citations, which will likely have to be re-recorded because of the inconsistencies. I think the best version for LibriVox to post would be the full version with the references, even though that is a bit more difficult ...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

In the immortal words of Winnie the Pooh, "oh bother." With apology to the PL, it looks like I uploaded the early chapters from the wrong directory, my fault entirely. The edited files will fix most of that, and I'll fix the errors. The files for the entire book are complete and ready to b...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

I am. The recording is done. Just finished cleaning up the WAV audio files. Currently exporting the full set of 128kb MP3 files for upload. The downside is that it ate up time, but the plus side is that it should go through PL very quickly. Wedding this weekend but likely upload the entire group of ...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Thank you. As a longtime editor I remain convinced that everyone needs an editor, and your kind comments reinforce that. I completely agree that the notes break things up for listening. I've dabbled with the thought of producing one set of files with the references in place and another with them rem...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

I've read the text and the footnotes (mostly limited to short scripture references) into one file, and the longer endnotes into another file. Most chapters are long enough that the division is required to stay within length limits anyway. A couple of the longer chapters will have to be broken up as ...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Thanks to both of you. I'm focusing my time on editing right now, hoping to get the rough edit done before sending chapters for proof listening. I'm still getting used to LibriVox abbreviations and processes and system. If I seem slow and clueless, it's because I am. Still alive, though dealing wit...

Re: SOLO Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage - tg

Got it. I'll pick out the essentials and trim things to a size to fit into the written description.
