Re: Including reader's name in the MP3 tags

So then the _build_tags function would be much simpler. The foreach loop goes away, and all we would need to do is add to the $tag_data array: "url_source" => array($project->url_librivox) or url_publisher, though I think url_source would be more appropriate. Side note: according to wikip...

Re: DR: Emily of New Moon by L. M. Montgomery

The editor is me, but the narrator position is open, as I am Emily and she does not narrate her whole story. So the narrator should be marked as available. The limit will be respected and all will be kept up with, never fear! Precisely why I mentioned it! DRs are a lot more work than usua...

Re: Covermakers Chat Thread

I'll have to see if I can get Photoshop. I wonder if there is a free version available. Will have to check. Adobe Photoshop isn't available for free, but there are similar programs you can get for free. In the video Tricia linked, they demonstrate making covers using this one: https://www.gimp.org/

Re: DR: Emily of New Moon by L. M. Montgomery

I see from the DR Novels in Preparation thread that you have a narrator and editor lined up. Is that you, or do you have someone else signed on? Thanks for keeping up with your project in the current DR Scene & Story Collection, and for helping coordinate a previous volume of that collection. Th...

Re: Including reader's name in the MP3 tags

Well, then we've got something to work with! Thank you for doing the hard work of digging up the proper details for this library, and testing out the code that would change it! We are very much not guaranteeing that every proposed change gets into the code, but I'm happy to talk about this with you....

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

So I learnt that -19 LUFS does not equal 0.0 Db. It is The difference between the two values is +2.2. Am I right so far? The weird thing (to my mind) was that the waveforms grew larger (slightly) when I changed from -19 LUFS to 0.0 Db. I was expecting the reverse, because I thought I am changing fr...

Thank you, Stacey. I'll be able to check the tech specs in the morning, but the reading itself is OK in the meantime.

This weekly poem is now closed. Will also begin cataloging in the morning!

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

I used to use Amplify, but it also can amplify the loud bits too much and cause clipping. But Loudness Normalization doesn’t have that issue; it allows for varying volumes. Loudness Normalization on its own doesn't do anything to even out the volume of a recording. Just like Amplify, it adjusts the...

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

Also, looks like the Checker app only works with MP3 files, not with .aup files, right? You'll need to export to MP3 in order to upload, and Checker will check the other technical specs for you too. So long as you still have your .aup file, you can adjust the volume and re-export to make a new MP3 ...

Re: 2024 Microphone Recommendations

Well, welcome to LibriVox! We're glad to have you join us! That wiki page might be this one: User-Recommended Equipment ...and I suppose that is quite old! Might still be handy in knowing what to look for in general, at least. Myself, I never leveled up from the Blue Yeti, and it doesn't h...
