Re: Virginia by Ellen Glasgow

I see that it’s been several years since anyone has posted anything about this book. I’m reading it now and am very impressed with it. I’m surprised LibriVox volunteers haven’t read it yet, or any of her other books. (Other than the first chapter of this book.) This would be a good book to record.

I’ll sign up again this year. Reached my goal of 60 last year...just. This year I’m aiming for 52. Looking forward to listening to lots of LibriVox books.

Here is my list of December's books. " A Better Man " by Louise Penny. Library audiobook. Another excellent 3 Pines story. This was one of my favorites. " Cape Cod Stories " by Joseph Crosby Lincoln. Re: Christmas dinner

I had bought a small beef roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions, and was just about to begin arranging them all in the roasting pan early this afternoon, when Brian decided to flirt with a heart attack. So sorry to read this, Maria. Glad he’s getting it taken care of. Christmas Day is one of those d...

Re: One Book A Week Club 2019

I haven't posted anything since August. I often have several books going at once...paper book, audiobook and e-book...but don't post them until I've finished a book. So here's my list for September through November (assuming I remembered to post all of them) :) 9/2019 “ K ” by Mary Roberts Rinehart....

I see someone else already posted this. I guess I missed looking at LibriVox one day. (Doesn’t happen very often.) :)

Re: 1924

Just a friendly reminder that we don't link to texts or start projects here until they're officially PD. 8-) EDIT: And we still can't do Agatha Christie. I just did a copy/paste on the post, so realize it’s not 100%. I assume no Agatha Christie because of British copyright laws. Some good things to...

Re: One Book A Week Club 2019

I've done a decent amount of reading this summer, but only finished one book in July. (I don't post a book until I've finished reading it.) Anyway, I included it with my August list: July " The Tattooed Map " by Barbara Hodgson. Library book sale. A very interesting read. A beautiful book - literall...

Closed now. Just waiting on one little PL and my metadata confirmations. Soon we'll be able to catalog everyone's fine work!
Finally got back to a computer to check final Section. All sections are now PL OK. :) Great work by all the readers!

Re: LibriVox 14th Anniversary Collection-ag

Hello mhhbook, Is my recording PL Ok? I was a little bit anxious while recording Donne's sonnet last night because English is not my native language and I wondered whether I could accurately render this seventeenth-centure British poetry and deliver the meaning of the words clearly. Another thing t...
