Re: DR Scene & Story Collection 5 - rr

For a variety of reasons, I withdraw from the story 1 project, The Woggle-Bug Book as BC and as Narrator. I apologize to any who are inconvenienced.

Uploaded a revised (includes Chickie) partial (54:04) Part 2 to location https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/goldkiller_2_prosper_128kb.mp3 for safekeeping.

There is Duplicate recording in the Project Share] that can be listened to without impacting LV servers.

Re: [Solo/Dark Romanticism]Chalk Face by Waldo Frank -jo

I have just one note about this section: at 2:58, I hear a knocking sound in the background after the sentence “Why not accept the vantage of events?” You might want to edit that out. Cheers, Thanks for the note. I hope it's better now. Still close enough to 21:18 to call it that. https://librivox....

Re: [DR][Murder Mystery] Gold-Killer by John Prosper (a pseudonym) - thw

Hi! Here is part 2 for Chickie. I tried to upload over the weekend but was having some technical difficulties. I will be out of town the remainder of this week, so I will work on any needed edits when I return. (Then I'll get started on the remaining parts.) Hope this is ok. ^_^ https://librivox.or...

Re: [Solo/Dark Romanticism]Chalk Face by Waldo Frank -jo

https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/chalkface_06_frank_128kb.mp3 (21:18) is ready for PL. There is a passage in which the French word sideral is used instead of its English equivalent sidereal . I don't know why and I'm not sure it matters. I went with something that I thought was closer ...

Re: [Solo/Dark Romanticism]Chalk Face by Waldo Frank -jo

Section 5 is PL OK. Run, Mildred, while you still can! Of course, she's a bit weird too. Or perhaps that's just because we're seeing her through his eyes. Cheers, Which "his"? I'm pretty sure that John Mark has disintegrated, or disassociated, or whatever you call it, well before the stor...

Re: DR Scene & Story Collection 5 - rr

Thank you for the PL, Brian. And you don't need an OK to start PL! We just have folks post to say they're starting, so two don't go at once. I dunno about that narrator, I suppose we'll see how it comes out in the wash. I think it could be fun if two or even many more did PL all at onc...

Re: DR Scene & Story Collection 5 - rr

Excellent! Added to the MW, and now we have two projects ready for volunteers to do the final PL. :D I'd like to PL Hills Like White Elephants if that would be acceptable. PL OK. I couldn't wait for an okay to proceed. I really wanted to hear it and I didn't want to wait until the collection is com...

Uploaded https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/chalkface_04_frank_128kb.mp3 (15:15). Section 4 is PL OK. Confirmed: he has not yet wooed her, but he presents a whole bunch of overblown ideas about her as fact! Cheers, So, I used the site outage yesterday to record. I have a couple more to ...

Re: [Solo/Dark Romanticism]Chalk Face by Waldo Frank -jo

Sections 1, 2, and 3 are all well-read and PL OK. What a disturbing story! The narrator seems to live in a universe of his own making. I have absolutely no sense of who Mildred is; it's as if she's just an imaginary being he's created in his own head. For example, there's no indication of how long ...

Re: [Solo/Dark Romanticism]Chalk Face by Waldo Frank -jo

But what you're reading in that first section is actually the Preface. Why not call it that? What comes before that is some kind of backhand dedication to his father and it's your choice to leave it out. Cheers, I suppose the first section could be interpreted as the book's preface. Must it ? Why a...
