Googling turned up several works on the subject. Old John Brown by Walter Hawkins...

Good news, everyone. Gutenberg just added a complete issue of Astounding Stories of Super Science from February 1930. It contains 8 stories (though one is part of a serial) plus tons of great ads ("In raw, damp, or cold weather, change to OLD GOLD. Its naturally good tobaccos are smooth and kin...

Yes, because American children can't figure out what a Philosopher's Stone is, or that a jumper is a sweater and not a girl's dress; and oh my gosh maybe they said petrol instead of gasoline (horrors); and we might all just shrivel up and die if we had to read something that actually SOUNDS LIKE IT...

And you'll note that in the most recent TWIT, Jason "Audible is the best thing ever, who cares about DRM" Calacanis mentioned that he hates being on with Doctorow because he thinks him pretentious (which I think is fair in general, but not WRT DRM).

Re: Short Sci-Fi Collection #011

I have uploaded a story Title: The Day of the Boomer Dukes Author: Frederik Pohl Pohl is one of the few sci-fi authors on Gutenberg who's still alive -- perhaps the only one now that Westlake's dead. And not only alive, but he blogs . Once the collection is finished, it'd be interesting to get his ...
