Hi, Everybody-- Thanks for all the great comments. I looked at my message again and realized it seems a bit gloomy, but it's not really as bad as it sounds. Life has worn down my knee (but that's fixable) and thrown some pretty severe stuff at a few of my family members (but it gives me an opportuni...

Leaving LibriVox

Hi, Everybody-- I'm going to have to stop recording (at least for a while). I have a number of external forces at work on me at the moment (a full knee replacement next month, a mother with Alzheimer's, a brother wrongly convicted and in prison, plus too many work-related issues to lay out here). I ...

Hi, Scott-- My username and info are in the catalogue, and I just finished dropping my three files into the uploader. Sorry it took so long -- unusual for me -- but things have been excessively crazed for me lately. This will be my last project for LibriVox for a while, but I'll be available for re-...

Enigmatic but informative.

The Basso (or Bassos)

Just a note: The part of the Basso in the play is that of a servant to the Turkish emperor, not a singer, so a deep voice may not be needed. The name may come from the Latin meaning for "low" or "base". See here for an explanation. http://deptorg.knox.edu/engdept/commonroom/HWP_Essays/2/HWP2-Essay-F...

Thanks, Smokey--

The traffic noises are building around here now, so I probably won't be able to record until later, maybe even tomorrow morning, but I'll get it done as soon as I can.

Chapter 20 is also in the holding area, pasted below Alan's. I would like to start recording it early tomorrow morning, so if someone could proof it fairly soon, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Michael

Alan has given me a basic outline (something to ponder overnight). I'll check the Google Doc in the morning and see if I can have some reading material for breakfast.

All I can say is that by the time it comes for me to wrap this up, it looks like it's going to take a 20,000 word chapter to do it.

Or, it could be as simple as

"What is the sound of one novel ending . . . ?"

I would take another chapter before #30 (or whatever it ends up being), but I can't take on anything before the end of this week, after Friday specifically.

Re: Proofation

I will try and proof chapters 11 & 12 this evening. (As I read through them carefully seeking ways to incorporate ninjas, hashish, and Christopher Marlowe.) (Or Philip Marlowe.) (And Tom Wopat.) -B. The Dukes of Faustus and the Black Bird? Who's going to play Daisy of Troy? And who's going to give ...

Hi, Gesine--

I just guessed at what should be on the ID3 tag for Chapter 2. You did fix mine, yes? Or should I redo it and resend the chapter?
