Warnings about downloading a DLL are built into IE, not Windows. It's a good idea to be very cautious about such things, so it's good you're being careful. LAME at lame.sourceforge.net is simply a DLL you would need to put somewhere on your system, and then point Audacity at it by telling it where y...

As soon as I hear back from my local library, I'm going to start making some CDs. I'm giving some serious thought to a set of CDs published as ISOs+artwork so anyone can make them and take the same exact "edition" to their library, making them somewhat standardized, and possibly easier for various i...

When I have a cold my voice drops precipitously. I artificially speak a bit higher, but it shortens my range. My voice is deep to begin with so when I have a cold it can sound like a basso profundo from the Bolshoi Opera. Water and short stories, and serious works are what I do until it clears out. ;)

I'm thinking about creating CDs from the LV catalog and sending them to my library. BUT, it occured to me that the process would actually...

I was thinking that a really nice way for the public libraries to work would be for them to have Librox on a storage drive of some sort and for people to be able to transfer them to their MP3 players ? Ruthie - is your library saying you can't walk in and donate a book or a commercial audio book or...

That's fine then. I'm going to look into how I might go about getting some polished-looking copies of LV recordings and collections into my local library. With the covers published already and some time burning CDs (cheap to do), it might be quite useful.

I know the LV website is PHP-based. Do you have access to the .NET Framework there? Can you run ASPX pages?

I'm good at .NET but have little experience with PHP.
