I'm well, Stav, how're you doing? It's been a long time since we last worked together *smile* Chapter 1 is ready for you and cadastra -- https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/historyofsirrichardcalmady_01_malet_128kb.mp3 (15 mins exactly.) I actually recorded it a long time ago, but didn't get ve...

Hi Stav! Can I please have sections 1, 3, 4, 7 and 8? *big smile* This is such a good book, and so unusual for its time!

Re: Your Year in Literature
2019 can be summed up as: How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell If you looked under my couch you would see: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde At a party you’d find me with: Mycroft and Sherlock by Kareen Abdul-Jabbar I currently live in: Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins At the end of a long day I need...

Re: Your Year in Literature
Happy New Year! May 2020 be truly wonderful for you. :9: So, here's our annual review of our reading in 2019 . Try and answer the prompts below with the titles of books/stories/plays/poems you read/listened to in 2019 -- if possible, don't repeat any titles. It's fine to skip the ones you don't lik...

Re: How long does it take you to produce a section?
But ... we're LibriVoxers. :D There isn't 'high' or 'low' quality -- just different ways of approaching the same activity, for different reasons, causing differences in process and outcome. It's all good. It's all "acoustical liberation of books in the public domain" in the long run. :D

Re: How long does it take you to produce a section?
It depends on what I'm reading. A 3 min poem can easily take 45+ mins, because I faff about with every millimetre of it. 30 mins of easy non-fiction, or not-too-character-heavy fiction, perhaps 3 hours to produce. Harder fiction, or a lot of character voices, more like 4 hours. So a ratio of 6:1 to ...

Re: Players (for elderly)
If you aren't collecting PII, then as I understand it, you don't have a liability under GDPR as you have no data to be managed or protected. Similarly, if you aren't charging money or using ads to make money, then it's hard to see why anyone would bother litigating over a well-written app. (Obviousl...

Re: Players (for elderly)
Using a name that doesn't reference LibriVox directly (e.g. Super Friendly Audiobook Player, rather than LibriVox Super Friendly Player) can avoid the most obvious LibriVox-related issues you're likely to run into. (And reduces by 1% the number of people who will contact us directly for user support...

Please could you try the magic window login again -- at Phil's request, I've tucked the duplicate user out of the way, so it should work as expected this time round. Though you may still need to do the Forgot Password dance once more through.

It's nice to have you back here, Eunah, we've spoken here a little before. *waves and smiles* I used to be a Distributed Proofreader, but just enjoy LibriVox more. *grins* However, I hope someone who still crosses between the two might pass these suggestions on to DP. It does takes training and prac...

I'm not sure who produced the lovely cover for my Beyond Good and Evil -- but there's a little typo on Nietzsche (an extra s ... Nietszsche). I'm pretty sure I've made every typo possible on his name during the project, so completely relate.

Thank you so much, Tricia! I wouldn't have pestered you just before going away, but I was crossing my fingers you'd have a bit of time today.
And thank you, Sonia -- I really appreciate your patience and help with it!
