Re: LibriVox Community Podcast Planning

The Podcasts page lists the main theme of each recording, and if you scan back through this topic, you'll find the show notes which give more detail for each one. Combining both hopefully also gives an idea about the tone of the show ... these topics would need sensitive handling to be open to anyon...

Working in the loosest sense, yes. It's all recorded, I'm just ploughing through the editing very slowly indeed. :D

Re: Dramatic reading of the Iliad

Multiple narrators though? I have never seen a single project that had such a thing. It's gone out of fashion, perhaps, but does move things through more quickly! I rarely do DRs, but this method did make it easy for me to participate. https://librivox.org/scarecrow-of-oz-by-l-frank-baum/ (NOT volu...

Re: Need a good Android audiobook player.

I like Smart AudioBook Player. The free/basic version plays and pauses effectively ... but I bought the premium version for the ability to see how far through a book I am which for some reason I always really need to know. :D Plus no ads in that one. I'm not a big app buyer, have bought maybe 5 in m...

Re: New Project Template Generator

Did you start from an older project, chymocles? Or was it a link you had saved in your bookmarks or perhaps a private message from an MC?

Karen's site used to be the template generator, but we've updated it -- it'd be good to update the link you used so other people don't have the same problem :)

Re: Addition of LibriVox Logo to Linkedin Page

FWIW, there is a LibriVox group at LinkedIn ... there's no activity whatsoever, all posting and comms are here in the forum. But, if you are a past or currently active LibriVoxer and want to add it to your groups listing (appears under 'Interests'), then go for it. https://www.linkedin.com/groups/87...

No, the global gathering did happen :D Just, not super-globally (but we were a lot smaller then too ... )

Re: One reader with two voices desired.

David Barnes and I did a poem like this :D ... Prothalamion by Edmund Spenser . It was a lot of fun (and a lot shorter!) What worked for us (as far as I remember, because it was quite a while ago) was having worked together on other things (so we knew that our editing standards, pace, approach to po...

Re: Recording Motivation

Here are some of my favourites (though my sig's been the same For A Really Long Time, these are just general quotes that motivate me.) The oldest books are still only just out to those who have not read them. — Samuel Butler It is what you read when you don't have to, that determines what you will b...

Gosh, I didn't think I'd get a PL-OK on this project at all ... that's great!

With the long weekend I had a little bit of a cold, so no recording, but lots of time to sit down with chapter 6 which is ready in the window. :D

Welcome to the forum, SabSai! I like to use the Quick Links (top left of the screen) to check 'Your posts', which is a good way to show up new replies. (I get enough emails already without the forum going at it too  ) Or, the link to your post and feedback are here: https://forum.librivox.org/v...

Re: Creating varying voices.

Ah, we have some community podcasts that might help too! Full list here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Librivox_Community_Podcast ... I'd suggest trying 96 & 102 for starters. (Note to self, should really put little summaries in for all those blank ones sometime. Rainy day job.)
