Re: Some 1925 Publications that are Public Domain in 2021

Thanks for putting this together. I see you have The Red Lamp by Mary Roberts Rinehart on your list. I'm planning to start a solo reading in a week or two. I am waiting for a 1925 copy that I ordered to arrive in the mail and it is taking a while with the overload the post office is under nowadays.

Re: [COMPLETE] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

I'm sorry, I didn't know that I needed to notify the MC after editing the summary but I will remember it for the future. Thank you for taking the extra trouble to change it. Thank you very much for all of your help.

Re: [COMPLETE] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

Availle, thank you very much for all your help. It's very exciting to have my first reading completed. I really appreciate your taking time to do a cover for it and to include the link to the map. I had made a couple of minor edits to the summary in the magic window a couple of days ago, but the one...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

You've been a huge help throughout the project and I am very thankful to have had your advice. I also appreciate your being so flexible when I sped up the reading in the middle after telling you I wasn't going to race through. Thank you very much. Availle, I am wondering if it is possible to include...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

There are a lot of grammatical novelties in this section, and I did my best to record them as written. I imagine that English was not George Elson's first language. I have never heard of a "washing rod" and couldn't find anything relevant with a quick search. I think it may be an error for fishing r...

Re: ~DRAMA: Seven Keys to Baldpate by George M. Cohan-mtf

May I read Elijah Quimby? I've never been part of a dramatic reading but I've read about how it works.

Thank you very much. That explanation of the semicolon makes a lot more sense than anything else I've heard about it.

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

I've put the link for the new upload in the window and updated the time to add 3 seconds. The new sentence runs from 0:32 to 0:39. I'm not sure if parenthesis or parentheses is correct, as I have forgotten most of what I was told about the theory of grammar. My working hypothesis is that I would say...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

I've got a couple of further questions before I record and re-upload. I'm sorry to ask so many. I can see how to add more pauses but I'm still confused about the correct pronunciation for Liveyeres. The way I said the vowels in the recording is the same way I say them in 'figures', but it may be dif...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

Thanks, I'll give it a try and see what I can do. I had thought at first that the word in my reading that was not intelligible was "live-heres"(the repeat), but it sounds like it's actually "Liveyeres". Having two consecutive versions of a non-word at the end of a sentence is a bit baffling, though ...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

Thank you very much for listening to this very long section. I hope that your new chair is as comfortable as possible, and that you're feeling better. My morris chair is nothing to write home about, not at all a fancy style like some are, but it has the customary adjustable back angle and wide arms ...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

I hope the new chair will help. I know I've felt better ever since 2017 when I finally made a Morris chair that is big enough for me. I realized one day back then that it had been 15 or more years since I had sat in a chair that fit me, as I've been 7 feet tall since I was 16. I did get stranded on ...

Re: [EXPLORATION] A Woman's Way Through Unknown Labrador by Mina Benson Hubbard - availle

Oh dear, I'm sorry about your sciatica. I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Please don't feel like you need to listen to either one right away, there's plenty of time in the future and I'm not in a rush to get this book catalogued. I was having some milder sciatica symptoms that made it hard to si...

I recorded the first half of the last part of the book today, but there's no hurry about the proof listening. I won't be recording the last section till next Sunday anyhow. Thank you very much for PLing, especially through these extra long sections. https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/unknownlabrad...

Re: SOLO A Room with a View by E. M. Forster - lny

I don't know if this is applicable to your situation, but here goes, just in case. When I want to log in to edit the MW on my solo I click the BD Admin link under the MW, put in my BC password and then I am sent to the "you do not have permission" page. What I've found that works to get me past that...
