Re: (Open) [DR] The Mystery of a Hansom Cab by Fergus Hume - tg

Chapter 6 , Mr. Roger Moreland @07:25 - You've missed this sentence "I'm glad to be of any use to you in this matter, as Whyte was my dearest friend, and I'll do all in my power to help you to find out the murderer." These are optional. Feel free to ignore them. I thought of mentioning them just in...

Thank you, both. I'll record the acts that way and you can always omit anything you feel is unnecessary!

Re: ~FULL[Play]You Can Never Tell by George Bernard Shaw - thw

Hi everyone, glad to be a part of this! Question regarding the narration during dialogue. It seems there are several ways to narrate the speaker and stage directions. Which of the following would you prefer? Thanks, Andrew Bold text = read by narrator THE DENTIST (putting it down on the ledge of his...

PS. I misnamed the files the first time I uploaded them. Not sure if this is likely to cause a problem, but they should probably be deleted anyway :? Re: ~(Open) [DR] The Mystery of a Hansom Cab by Fergus Hume - tg

I prefer to read the censored words as censored. D-- would be a swallowed D; G-- would be a swallowed G - like you're starting to say the words but stop yourself. After all, that's what the author/publisher put in the book; that's what we should read, IMHO. Thanks Tricia. Yes, suppose it's probably...

Re: ~(Open) [DR] The Mystery of a Hansom Cab by Fergus Hume - tg

Chapter 34: "D— your friends, sir!" cried Moreland, furiously, rising from his seat. "Trapped by G—!" shouted the wretched man, I'm guessing that the D--- is Damn (and I don't see any reason not to use that). The G-- alludes me though. Do you have a suggestion? Agree on the damn. I think three lett...

Hi, can I ask how you want Moreland's censored lines to be read? Such a potty mouth...

Chapter 34:

"D— your friends, sir!" cried Moreland, furiously, rising from his seat.

"Trapped by G—!" shouted the wretched man,

Hi, may I claim Man in a Light Coat/Roger Moreland?

Also, assuming the identity is only revealed later, what would you like me to say for the 'character name read by...' ?

Thanks

Re: [Play]Lady of Lyons by Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton - thw

I'm editing Act II together now and have discovered that we are missing a some lines for Claude that should go at around 1:35. I apologize for how difficult to read this Project Gutenberg version of the script is! Claude's lines come after (Madame and PAULINE examine the ring.) Mel. [to BEAUSEANT a...

Re: [Play]Lady of Lyons by Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton - thw

Hi, please may I check whether you wish to include the 'On the stage' additions? E.g. from the end of Act II: (* On the stage the following lines are added:—) “Do you? Wise judges are we of each other. ‘Woo, wed, and bear her home! So runs the bond To which I sold myself,—and then—what then? Away? ...
