Re: ~grp/ sociology The privilege of pain - lt

The author is Caroline Kane Mills Everett. I'll fix the author database entry, but the author name needs to be changed in the first post.

Re: 1 min test

The microphone still sounds "hot" (there's distortion in your voice), and the volume is still quite high. Perhaps move the microphone away from your mouth a bit? I was afraid that turning off the noise suppression would result in a lot more background noise. That makes sense - the noise suppression ...

Re: [GRP/POLITICS] Handbook of Home Rule by Various - tg

Great! You've got a default deadline of 2 months, so there isn't a major rush. :) Here's your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/13077 You can keep track of your assigned sections there. (Click on Reader section details to see each section.) To get to this link yourself, use your name in any ...

Re: Advice and Help

Honestly, if poetry isn't your cup of tea, I wouldn't suggest doing it. While it's short, I find poetry to be one of the harder things to read well. There are a ton of prose group projects - nonfiction, fiction - with shorter sections, if you're looking for short things to work on. I'd say, pick a p...

Re: [GRP/POLITICS] Handbook of Home Rule by Various - tg

That'd be great - the preface is yours. 8-) How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) whe...

And he would have gotten away with it, but some meddling kids and a stoner dog showed up in a weird van and gave it all away.

Re: Opinion on where a story should go

Either place, I suppose. However, I think that if it gives one a creepy feeling and all that, and the twist only comes at the very end, then it's still a good horror story, even if the ghost is fake.

IMHO. :)

Re: 1-minute Test Recording

Good, good! Should I crank the settings up or turn them down a bit? You talking about the volume? It's on the low side of OK. Maybe nudge the mic slider up a small bit - 0.05 or so. (If it is at 0.85, for example, move it up to 0.90.) But it's still in the OK range, so you could just leave it where ...

Thank you! PL OK. :)

(FYI for the future, "Grosvenor Square" has the S silent - pronounced like "GROVE-ner". It went by so quickly, it's not a big deal in this chapter.)

Re: SOLO The Emancipation of South America by Bartolomé Mitre-mas

Section 13:

In the first minute or so, you've got a whistle at 824 Hz. I'd suggest a notch filter to remove it. (If you've never done a notch filter before, use 824 as the frequency and try 5.0 as the Q).

Otherwise, A-OK!
