Re: [TRAVEL] The Travels of Ibn Batuta by Ibn Batuta - tg

Whew. Did it. It wasn't difficult, but I can't help feeling a bit flushed at acquiring a new skill at Librivox. The only thing that wasn't utterly straightforward was having to find a completed file of yours to get your catalog name. Ah! I didn't realize you had never done it before. :) Good job! I...

Re: Daemonologie-King James I?

Anne - she's just modernizing the spelling so her audio will flow better. It won't be different from the text when all is done. :)

Esmina - please choose "maryannspiegel" as your MC when you use the uploader, rather than "triciag". I'll move the files over to MaryAnn's folder, but would prefer if they started out in the right spot. ;)

No worries - you'll get the hang of it all. 8-)

Re: [RELIG HIST] Journal of Francis Asbury, Vol. I - tg

For the record, I was in my uploader folder, so I renamed section 11's file. It's correct in the MW (or should be, if I didn't make a stupid mistake).

Re: [SOLO] The Finding of Jasper Holt by Grace Livingston Hill - tg

Yeah, that would be confusing. LOL!

Chapter 9 uploading now. Kevin'll be home soon (only a 50-km bike ride today because he has other things to do), so not enough time to record another chapter today.

I've added you in, since Kim hasn't logged into the forum in over 2 months. :(

Pattymarie - feel free to act as BC as much as you like (adding claims, adding submitted sections), and/or I'll continue to fill in the gaps.

Agreed with Tony and Peter - read the words as written, without modernizing them.

Re: [NOT PD]The Trial by Kafka

Yes, it's on PG, but the bibrec tab says it's copyrighted. It was submitted (or allowed) by the translator, who I believe is still alive. But it's not LV-able.

I added The Trial to the pinned post about "Books not in the Public Domain and why" since it is one people ask about fairly regularly.

Re: SOLO Of Holy Virginity (De virginitate) by Saint Augustine of Hippo - philc

Problem: in researching the translator to finalize his database entry, I learned that the translator was not Charles John Cornish, but Charles Lewis Cornish. The audio should probably be changed, as well as the info on the Archive page. (The translator on the LV page will change as soon as I fix his...

Re: [NOT PD]The Trial by Kafka

When will a work published in '24 go into PD in US? It's not done yet on legamus anyway and times there tend to be long (don't know if anyone would like to record it, though - he seems a bit rough to read from what I found in the forum there ;) ) Crap - I just lost all I was typing. :( The German v...

Re: My 1 Minute Test (DesignChris)

Normalize isn't a good way to amplify, since it basically just ups your volume so that the highest peak is at the setting you specify. If you have one big spike, it messes up the amplification. There's a small program the spouse of a LibriVoxer developed to check the tech settings. If you're game, y...
