Thank you! PL OK. :)

(FYI for the future, "Grosvenor Square" has the S silent - pronounced like "GROVE-ner". It went by so quickly, it's not a big deal in this chapter.)

Re: SOLO The Emancipation of South America by Bartolomé Mitre-mas

Section 13:

In the first minute or so, you've got a whistle at 824 Hz. I'd suggest a notch filter to remove it. (If you've never done a notch filter before, use 824 as the frequency and try 5.0 as the Q).

Otherwise, A-OK!

Re: 1 minute test

Definitely loud enough. In fact, maybe a little too loud. ;)

Bump the mic slider down maybe half a notch, and you'll be golden.

I'm going to mark this as OK, but if you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Re: 1-minute Test Recording

Plosives are gone! This one has a bit more noise than the previous one. I would suggest some noise reduction to take care of it. Here are a couple resources: text instructions: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Noisecleaning_With_Pics video, but with an older version of Audacity so the set...

Re: 1-minute test

Welcome! It sounds good! Volume is great (don't go any louder, but it's fine where it is). Other settings are all correct. You have what sound like mic bumps in the recording. They're most noticeable at the beginning - in "People were" and on "find", you can hear it. Are you somehow bumping your mic...

Re: 1 Minute Test

Welcome! Well, since you've run it through Checker, you know that the technical stuff is all correct. ;) Listening to it, it sounds great! I don't know that I can think of anything to suggest to improve it. I'd say, go ahead and do a few group project sections. You can ask for constructive criticism...

Re: Test and feedback

Mind if I jump in? 8-) Well, now the overall volume is too low. It was fine where it was, and there wasn't much background noise to speak of - I'm not sure why you changed your settings. :) Volume needs to come up about 6 dB. There are fewer plosives, but still a few. Try moving your mic more to the...

Re: 1-minute test

Welcome! It sounds pretty good, for being on a busy street. :) - The recording is in stereo. To change all future recordings, go to Edit, Preferences, Devices. Under Recording, change Channels to "1 (Mono)". - The volume is quite too high. Visually, you should aim for your wave forms to peak near th...
