Re: Name that Sound Contest

That, and we don't want to distribute recordings/sounds that may not be PD.

Thanks Tricia  That was interesting. One error you can fix or not. :42 Connected by metal bars carrying a seat – you read containing Craig Let me know if you don't want to fix it and I'll mark it PLOK Craig I think it still conveys the idea, and the edit might be more jarring than the origi...

Re: I can't get uploaded

It sounded to me like you were more having Windows issues than Audacity/recording issues at this point, which is one reason I suggested a regular computer person. They're also easier to find than a LibriVoxer, since there are more of them. ;) Where are you? Is your computer a laptop or otherwise por...

Re: Community Podcast: Solace for the Grieving

Please keep track of the e-texts and info on texts used in the final podcast. That info can go in the show notes. :)

Re: I can't get uploaded

Do you know someone local who is pretty good at computers and can help you out in person? I'm not sure how we can resolve this remotely. It would be better if someone were standing over your shoulder to see what you see.

Re: I can't get uploaded

I can't get the blasted video recording to work. Sounds like you're doing all the steps correctly. When you go to the uploader, you navigate to the desktop to find the file, correct? (Seeing your last post) If your file isn't very long, the progress bar won't show or if it does, will not last...

I think we need to get into more detail on that saving/exporting screen. :)

Re: I can't get uploaded

LAME is a bit of code that makes it possible to make an MP3 at all. Once it's installed, you should never have to look at it or use it again, because it's been integrated into Audacity.

The saving/exporting/where-is-it questions I'll try to answer in the video.

Re: I can't get uploaded

I'm going to try to make a video for you, but it's going to take me a while - I have to download and install video software, then remember how to use it. (I've done it before, but it's been a few years.)

Re: The offensive

There are still community podcasts; they're just fewer and farther between. :)

Maybe someone will see your post and decide to head one on that topic! viewtopic.php?f=22&t=37182

Re: [NOT PD YET]The King of Elfland's Daughter

Yes and no. It's nice to have more modern stuff (not really modern, just MORE modern). But on the other hand, there's still a TON of 1922 and earlier books that aren't done, so it's not as if we were running out of material. ;)
