I'm OK with that. I know you're good for them. 8-)

That "(sic)" in the final part of the one section: you can probably leave the "sic" out since I think it's about the spelling, and no listener is going to hear the British spelling of the word.

Re: [GRP/AUTOBIO/WWI] The Enormous Room by E E Cummings - tg

I don't know. :? I've posted a 12-second sample over in "Need Help?" to see if anyone has any ideas. You may want to pop in there and let them know your setup - what kind of mic you're using, whether it's got a pre-amp or other specialized hardware, and your software (Audacity?) https://forum.libriv...

Mysterious crackling sound

Hi Tricia—I am uploading this recording in the hope that I might get some feedback on the problem, which I have had repeatedly, of the crackling that begins at about 3:28 and continues through the rest of the recording (notice that it happens with my voice, not in the silences). I intend to re-reco...

The necessary is done. 8-)

Making a section 0 requires a change in the database entry, so you couldn't do it. :)

Re: one minute test - jac18281828

On my screen, you are nowhere close to clipping. :hmm: Are you using Audacity? Here's how it looks to me: https://librivox.org/uploads/xx-nonproject/Capture.JPG My thought is to make sure the slider on the left side (where I have the arrow) is exactly in the middle. If you move it, it'll change the ...

Re: one minute test - jac18281828

Welcome! Sounds great! OK, I'm assuming you're using Audacity. ;) Volume needs to come up about 6 dB more. You could either increase your input volume (in Audacity, the mic slider; if it's all the way up already, you'll have to go into your Windows/OS settings) or just amplify all your recordings as...

Re: 1 minute test-looking for feedback

Welcome! In general, it sounds good. To me, it sounds like you're far away from the microphone. How close is the mic to your mouth? Technical stuff: Your volume is too low. Visually, you should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this: http://wiki.librivox.org/images/4/4d/Volume....

Sounds good, except it's hard to hear. ;) Your volume is too low. Visually, you should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this: http://wiki.librivox.org/images/4/4d/Volume.jpg Make sure the microphone slider in the Audacity window is all the way up. Also, have you increased your...
