Re: [CHILDREN] The Wishing-Stone Stories by Thornton W. Burgess - jo

Just had a listen and I thoroughly enjoyed your reading! I have a couple of notes, all easy fixes: Volume- as Larry mentioned above the volume level does need to be raised to meet the target of 89db. 12:48 to 12:51- there is almost a 4 second pause here which seems to disrupt the flow of the story....

Re: [CHILDREN] The Wishing-Stone Stories by Thornton W. Burgess - jo

Thank you. Just a couple of issue before I put this in the Magic Window. First, you need to combine this into just one file. Simply edit the "story itself by pasting the introduction at the beginning. Adjust spacing as needed. Then, just five seconds of silence at the end. Second, the volume o...

Re: [CHILDREN] The Wishing-Stone Stories by Thornton W. Burgess - jo

Here is my first recording - I hope it's alright. I re-recorded the intro separately, as I got the wording slightly wrong in the original version. Here is the intro - https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/wishingstonestories_09_intro_burgess_128kb.mp3 And here is the story itself - https://...

Thank you! That's exactly what I wanted to know. I should have the finished recording with you soon. :)

Re: ~[CHILDREN] The Wishing-Stone Stories by Thornton W. Burgess - jo

I've just finished recording my part, and I have a question about the information to be put at the start and the end. Make sure you add this to the beginning of your recording: [/i] NOTE: There are special instructions for the intro. There are three sections of four chapters each. Intro starts with ...

Re: ~[CHILDREN] The Wishing-Stone Stories by Thornton W. Burgess - jo

Are you looking for a reader for How it Happened that Reddy Fox Gained a Friend? I'd be glad to do that, if it's still available. :) Certainly, Peter! Before I can officially assign this to you, I need to add you to the LibriVox catalog of readers. How would you like to be listed? Real name, pseudo...

Re: Hello from the UK!

Hello Rapunzelina, and thank you for your very kind welcome. :) I tend to read more fiction than non-fiction, although I do have a few books about history and art criticism. I particularly love the great Russian authors of the nineteenth century, along with a lot of British authors from the mid-twen...

How to embed the recording in my post? (1 minute test)

Hello everyone! After a few days of getting to grips with Audacity, I have finally succeeded in recording a 1-minute test, but unfortunately I can't quite work out how to link or embed it in a post in the appropriate forum. Could you please let me know how this is done?

Many thanks,

Peter

Hello from the UK!

Hello everybody - it's lovely to meet you all! My name is Peter, and I have loved reading ever since I was old enough to run my finger along a line of text and mouth the words to myself. Today, more than forty years later, I spend at least an hour or two each day with a good book, and I would love t...
