Re: OPEN Short Poetry Collection 208 - rap

I'm thinking that I'll record another Jupiter Hammon poem: https://poets.org/poem/address-miss-phillis-wheatley
For this, should I speak the Roman numeral headings as the Arabic numbers ("one, two, three") pronounce them as they're spelled (X = "ex") or just skip them and only speak the written text?

Re: [OPEN][GROUP - Short Stories] Myths and Legends Around the World (in English) Collection 3 - tg

Hi Lynette, I'm planning to read "Hi'Nun" and "The Thunderers" in the same recording, as they're both pretty short and about the Hi'Nun. Is that okay? https://www.gutenberg.org/files/42390/42390-h/42390-h.htm#chap04 Hi Lynette, What should I read in the beginning for the title and author portion?

Hi! This is my first contribution! I'd like my catalog name to be Evan Mantler. I don't have a website or anything to link to. Please let me know if I need to change anything for this time or if you have some tips/critique for my next recording! An Evening Thought: Salvation by Christ, with Penitent...

Re: Collection of Poetry by Black/African American authors

I thought Phillis Wheatly (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phillis_Wheatley) was the first published African-American poet, but Jupiter Hammon has her beat by 12 years. Someone needs to correct Wikipedia. :) Jupiter Hammon also took a long break between his first publication and his next, which I bel...

BC wanted: Collection of Poetry by Black/African American authors

Hi folks, I am new around these parts and just finished my first recording. I recorded "An Evening Thought: Salvation by Christ, with Penitential Cries" by Jupiter Hammon, which was actually the first publication by a Black American, published in 1761. I was going to submit this to the August short ...
