Re: OPEN[Play] The Widowing of Mrs Holroyd by DH Lawrence - thw

Here's Narrator Act 1:

File length: 20:08

Saying "Holroyd" that much gets to be a bit of a tongue-twister!

Thank you!

On the topic of Smetana's The Moldau, I love that piece! The peasant wedding section is a jam.

Holroyd act 1 https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/widowingofmrsholroyd_holroyd_1.mp3 Hope I made him sound unpleasant enough :hmm: Act I sounds great! There's just one minor thing: at 2:58, "Yi, come on wi' thee" is repeated. Would you like to edit out one of them so that the take that you'd prefer...

Michele, do I need to wait for you to update the MW to "Ready for PL" before PLing or anything like that? If so, I'm sorry I jumped the gun.

That's right after the title.
Personally I would not say footnote but just the "written in August, 1884", possibly with a little change of voice.

But it's up to you, what you prefer.
Ah, now that I think about it, it does make more sense to leave out "footnote." Thanks!

Section 26 has a footnote. Should this read word-for-word as the following? "The Lord of Lords. Footnote: Written in August, 1884. End of footnote. We are in the midst of a political crisis," etc. Or is there another preferred wording?

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

What kind of headphones are you using? Are they noise-canceling headphones? If so, can you turn off that feature? What sort of"noise issues" do you hear over the speakers, but not with the headphones? Are you sure it's not an artifact of the speakers themselves? They're USB headphones (non-noise-ca...

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

does anyone else find that they have to proof-listen to their stuff without headphones as well as with? I appreciate the effort that you're putting into the quality of your recordings. I wonder if your headphones completely cover your ears and cancel out ambient sounds. I also wonder about the qual...

Re: The all-new "HELP! I have an Audacity problem" thread

This isn't a huge deal since it's part of my process now, but does anyone else find that they have to proof-listen to their stuff without headphones as well as with in order to catch noise issues that don't show up when they listen with them on? (Yes, I do edit with headphones.) Is this just an Auda...
