Re: SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Hey all -- I've totally lost steam on this book. It was going well, and then..... I just couldn't get back into it. I didn't realize how tough this one would be to read solo! I still want to read for Librivox, but I'd like to put this on hold for now. Or maybe someone else can take over?

Re: SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Okay, I've updated the MW with what I think is a good plan going forward for breaking down the text into manageable sections. I tried to add my username to Section 05, but I kept on getting the endless "spinning wheel" icon when I tried, so it wouldn't work. I'll try again. Also, should I...

Re: SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Ha. Take it easy, this will all sort out without much difficulty. As soloist, you don't need to post thelink in the thread, just post a note like "section 11 ready for PL" or the like. You will have put the link into the magic window arlready. I will check out your numbering system and ge...

Re: SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Okay! I am back, and I hope I did it right - if not, please guide! For clarity's sake, here's what I did: I couldn't put all of Part 1 (Sections 1 - 4) in one single file, because it would run over the 70 minute limit. So I broke Part 1 into two files. The first file contains Sections 1 -3, and the ...

Re: SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Thanks, Phil! I can keep the sections all together without subdividing them, that's no problem.

In that case, I will finish recording all parts of Section 1, and then re-upload that file, with proper naming conventions. I hope to begin recording again sometime before the weekend, so stay tuned!

Re: SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Madmash. Yes, naming sections and chapters is important and should be consistent. You should carefully review the text and decide how it will be divided and then exactly how each section/chapter/part will be addressed while recording. The first post in this thread, the one where you set up the proj...

Re: ~SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

Okay, I think adding in Waite's name is a good idea. Phil, Leni - do you have any suggestions on how to read the titles and authors aloud? Does de Laurence come first? Should I add any extra words like "originally written" by A.E. Waite? And would this change any of the file namings i.e., ...

Re: ~SOLO - The Illustrated Key to the Tarot by de Laurence - philc

I've done more research into the origins of this text and the history of the Tarot in general. Here's the shortened story: Arthur Edward Waite wrote "The Pictorial Key to the Tarot," which was the companion handbook to what is now commonly referred to as the "Rider-Waite-Smith" T...
