Re: [SHORT ARTICLES] The Rural Magazine and Literary Evening Fire-Side Vol 1 No 1 by Various - tg

wow! I am impressed by your recording setup and your recording prowess in such a short time! I've been here for years, but never gotten really technical. I do use compression often though, mostly in order to lower those spikes in the waveform that prevent me from amplifying. So, yes, compression ha...

Got my curiosity up, so thought I'd give you a third ear. I downloaded the file to listening in Audacity with a good pair of headphones. Did you us a lot of compression or equalization with this? That could be part of the issue, although it almost sounds as if it could be something with the microph...

You could leave these pauses and/or breaths in the recording; it's only natural to breathe :mrgreen...

Congratulations on your first recording!! You have a lovely reading voice and style. Very clear  I got the recording at 4:37. But there was some problem, sounded like electric interference or something that truncates the recording at places. There might have been a problem while uplo...

Re: [GROUP] Harper's Young People, Issue 21-mas

I’m reading section 1 which happens to be a poem and a story. I’m ready to mix down the audio but have a question. Since both the poem and the story are together in section 1 should they also be mixed together or separately? In other words will I upload the poem and the story in separate files or w...

Re: [GROUP] Harper's Young People, Issue 21-mas

As I quote myself. I have found a free app for iPhone/iPad for pronunciation. It’s called “Pronounce” and seems to work well. This also may be available for Android phones. There is a whole topic about pronunciation help in the forum here: https://forum.librivox.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=40285. ...

Re: [GROUP] Harper's Young People, Issue 21-mas

I’m trying to figure out how to pronounce EYTINGE as in MARGARET EYTINGE. Does anyone have a good website for pronunciations? I'm assume it's like how it's said in this video , i.e. like 'setting' without the 's'. What I’m discovering is that this story has many names of flowers in it and I’m strug...
