Re: LibriVox 12th Anniversary Collection - tg
Thank you for arranging this anniversary collection, Sue and Mary. I have been away for a long time and am not properly back, but I couldn't let the anniversary pass :). Here is my contribution: Title: The Cost of Living in the Twelfth Century Author: Dana C. Munro (1866 – 1933) Text source https://...
Re: Hungry?
In the UK we call tomato paste "tomato purée" and the thinner one that pours "tomato passata". As far as I know, both are just pulped tomatoes, presumably sieved to remove skin and seeds, with varying quantities of liquid.

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
With my usual disclaimer that I know nothing about APIs, it appears to me that for titles, you need to drop the definite or indefinite articles (the, a, an) at the beginning of titles. e.g. https://librivox.org/api/feed/audiobooks/title/%5EStudy%20in%20Scarlet https://librivox.org/api/feed/audiobook...

Re: LibriVox API Discussion Thread
I know absolutely zilch about APIs, but as far as I can see, "audiotracks" is not a supported field. (See https://librivox.org/api/info) Having a mooch around, it appears that all the audiotracks field will yield is where the tracks were originally uploaded. These locations are never perma...

Drama: The Proposal by Anton Chekhov.
How much actual love is involved in this marriage proposal is a moot point... but it was a whole lot of fun.

Re: Unable to download anything from the catalog
And this is what I get when I click "download" the entire book: http://aidiyet.esb.org.tr/landpage?ms= http://archive.org/download/faeriequeene3_0906_librivox/faeriequeene3_0906_librivox_64kb_mp3. There is the answer, unfortunately. It looks like state DNS hijacking. This Reddit page disc...

Re: Missing Cover Art
The cover art is available on the LibriVox catalogue page https://librivox.org/sammlung-deutscher-gedichte-012-by-various/. I think your correspondent is referring to the Hörbücher LibriVox app at http://librivox.bookdesign.biz/de/book/7953. The app is produced by someone else, not LibriVox itself, ...

Definitely a name. Elsewhere in the text one finds: In the final course two grand specimens of the barzoi were placed in the slips; one of them, Zlooem, a magnificent animal, all power and life, who had won the Czar's gold medal in St. Petersburg in a wolf contest, impressed me forcibly with the ide...

Re: Decline and fall of the Roman Empire V 6- scrambled sect
As far as I can see there are just slips in the reading of the introduction of a few sections. The introduction for Section 14 is read as Chap. 62 part 1, instead of Chap. 63 part 1. The introduction for Section 16 is read as Chap. 16 instead of Chap. 64 part 1. The introduction for Section 19 is re...

A nose around reveals that the vidcast was "made dark" (i.e. removed) by a certain person five years ago. A similar forum query of why another item was "made dark" by the same person received the answer "possible copyright status issues" or "items with exe files&qu...

Re: Making your reading sound Great
Hello, lurcherlover. I'm currently inactive for various reasons, but I've been at LibriVox for a long time and have assisted many new readers who are unfamiliar with audio recording. There is a good reason that we have simple technical requirements: too many technical complications are a huge deterr...

Previous versions of the list may be found by searching on the Wayback Machine like this: https://web.archive.org/web/20140901000000*/http://www.dprice48.freeserve.co.uk/GutIP.html. e.g. 2014 versions show clearances after 19 Jul 2009 and 2013 versions show clearances after 02 Jan 2008.

Re: Books themselves in the public domain as well as recordi
By the way, does anyone know if Gutenberg releases a list of books that pass their clearance process? If so, where could I access that? Thanks again xD David Price's list of works in progress is at http://pglaf.org/~ccx074/gutip.html. It includes those already released as e-books by Project Gutenbe...
