I have a question.... When there are footnotes about the words used in the text, do we also read them? I see a section of text that says "...the army to Minikh 1, but the ...." The footnote says "1 The Russian form of the German name Munich." This is from page 81, and I recorded ...

I think your style is fine for this. History doesn't require really dramatic readings, so your more calm style works fine, IMHO. :) At times the readings feel a little... mechanical.
