Re: pass with a warning 50 times

Thanks Checker was written to help proof listeners check the files the are testing and is probably not the best thing for 1 minute tests. Re: Including reader's name in the MP3 tags

Anyone using our files for any purpose takes the files with our mp3 tags - what they do with them then is up to them. Re: Including reader's name in the MP3 tags

I can't see any need and it would make changing names impossible- and it does happen. I can think of a number of cases where we have been asked to take things down and we have just changed the name.
Also what is in the tags goes out into all the world and can not be changed.

One will probably drop in now we are sorted out - but you can start recording without one - often posting some files encourages PLers to commit. And knowing you already have recorded a book will also help.
And I'll tidy up the thread now.

Re: pass with a warning 50 times

How about uploading your latest file and posting a link . Otherwise everyone is sort of guessing . It might help to say about your microphone and your software if you are not using Audacity - Checker does does its best to explain things but ears and eyes can help

As it looks like Ed hasn't been on I am downloading and fixing the bitrate ---- I'd like to finish the cataloguing while I've time
It will be PL OK as the validator checks the bit rate

Re: How to avoid the "I'm reading" voice

It's fine to aim for perfection although judging from the reviews I have come across there are many ideas about what is perfection in a recording - just as with singers and actors and news readers ...... etc. But I've heard stage actors say they always pick someone in the audience they are talking t...
