Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

Thanks, I'll have to get started on next year pretty soon, as it takes such a long time to record anything, and leaving it until December makes it very rushed!

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

There has been the same carol twice many times before, take 2011 for example. I'm getting a bit closer to completing "O Come O Come Emmanuel", doing the arrangement has been a real nightmare due to my lack of skill in doing arrangements and my poor musical theory. I have only read treble c...

Re: [GROUP SONG] "The First Nowell" - Christmas Carol Collection 2019

I've posted my recording, feel free to add compression and adjust the volume as you see fit. It is peaking at about -0.1 dB.

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

I did record it specifically for Librivox, I'll just bung it on my Christmas CD (one day) as well. I've re-uploaded it, so hopefully it should be OK. I'm going to try and record another one "O Come O Come Emmanuel", but not sure if I can make the deadline for this year. I might be in with ...

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

Sure, no problem. I recorded it as hot as possible to get as best SNR as possible. My noise floor is quite high at -65 dB. I don't know how to check the volume in Audacity, It seems to be in the negative and go up to zero for me? Is it a plugin or something to check the volume? I'll use the amplify ...

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

OK, I have tried bring one track forward by 23 and then 10 miliseconds, but it gives an unpleasant chorus effect. I guess I'll just have to accept a more dry, lifeless mix. Upon further experimentation it seems that it might be better just to use one side of the stereo mix, either the left of the ri...

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

OK, I've finally finished recording, editing and mixing my song "We Three Kings of Orient are" and it is reasonably satisfactory, but the problem I am having is that pretty much all my reverb disappears when I mix down to mono. Does anyone have any idea how to fix that? Is it is simple as ...

Re: [GROUP MUSIC] Multilingual Christmas Carol Collection 2019 - tg

Hi There, For my first contribution to Librivox I would like to contribute to this project. I have done the 1 minute test and that's it. I have a wee bit of experience with recording music and am an experienced amateur musician. My first song will be "We Three Kings of Orient Are" I'll hav...

Re: From New Zealand

Yeah I will do the 1 minute test. I've been doing a bit of music recording in my mini home studio that I've been setting up, and have been learning a lot about recording, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I guess I can start recording all my tracks now and send them in, in November. It takes...

From New Zealand

Hello there, My name is Sam, and I am a long time listener, first time caller, so to speak. I am interested in contributing to the Christmas Carol Collection which has been running for many years now. I don't think the project has been started yet though, but I am keen to get started so I don't run ...
