And here you are:

I had to use Yousendit, since the librivox upload tool seemed to add a bunch of letters to file name for some reason.

You get to a point of diminishing returns actually. That USB Logitech mic is perfectly good enough for what we're doing. Good microphones (like good lenses) can get hideously expensive and there's really no sense in buying a seriously nice mic for reading here at LibriVox. What I do to get that mic...

Got it, David! (Sorry I was a little slow on the uptake this time...) Very good reading! It's pretty quiet, tho. I think the MC will adjust it, so not a big deal, but you might try turning up the gain on future recordings. I think I fixed it, but not by the gain or by moving the mic. See, I was hav...

Welcome to the thread dbaker. I took a look at Rabid Press' web site. Very nice. I like your submissions page. I'm working on a novel now, maybe it will cross your desk in a couple of years (I hate having a day job). Thank you so much Basil! If two years leaves us well, I will be happy to look at y...

Dave opens his big mouth

Writing versus editing, editing while writing... On writing: I participated in the 2003 nanowrimo, and finished a book that way, but since then I've mainly played with short stories on my livejournal. I have submitted a couple stories I've been rather proud of. Waiting for the rejections as we speak...

I would like chapter 3, if it's available. If it's taken, I would like chapter 4. :)

Another Austinite! Welcome, David! Grab a poem (or whatever) and start recording. If you find you like reading aloud on the Internet, there are several venues here in town where you can volunteer to do it in real life, too. Oh wow! :D I don't know if I'm ready for that. I write fiction, not poetry,...

Well here we go. This is my first recording, and I did it as a test, but received a good reaction from friends, and I'd love to submit it to the current collection. This is the dedication to Sara Teasdale's Love Songs, titled "To E". I found it here:http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/442 Here'...

Thank you so much. I'm going to go see if I can snag a poem right now. :)
