Section 41, please. Section 41 assigned  Thank you. Here we are: https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/flowersofevil_41_baudelaire_128kb.mp3 (1:44) I'm anxious to see how close these translations are to the original. I haven't any French, though, so I'll have to rely mostly on other translatio...

Re: omart3 1-minute test recording
Welcome! You're good to go, but I should point out that there is a moderate amount of background noise in your recording. The Audacity noise reduction effect can eliminate that problem. Also, your volume is 0.3dB too quiet. Hahaha! We won't hold that against you! When you do record your first sectio...

Hahah! She would throw down a meteorite!lightcrystal wrote: ↑May 18th, 2024, 5:59 pm Surely you need to ask a sky deity for this permission. I suggest Urania. Wasn't she the Greek sky Goddess and Muse?
But don't ask me for her phone number or email. She might communicate by striking a lightning rod with a few bolts.

Good point!Rapunzelina wrote: ↑May 18th, 2024, 12:50 pm Comparing the two files, to me the first one sounds crisper (more treble), the second one is more muffled (more bass). If you are still waiting for more gear, give that another a try too, as it's important to hit the right volume.

Here is the 'checker' program: https://cgjennings.ca/projects/checker/
I use it for each of my recordings just to be sure I've got the technical needs met.

Hi. I just went and uploaded a new test file https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test2_javiermenteguiaga.mp3 Hope this works better. Haha! Now the recording is 8dB too quiet. The hiss is gone, however, and I think you're good to go. In a bit, I'll point you to the 'checker' program so that you can t...
