I'd like to give Chapter 3 a try, though I will have to slog through it to get all the pronunciations correct (or nearly so!) What little Latin I have is Ecclesiastical Latin and I don't really know what English-speaking botanists do with Latin. I'll do my best!

This poem, by a reasonably well-known female American poet who was sometimes included in anthologies, is entitled "Will." It doesn't seem to apply to suicides directly. I'll keep looking. I have a few older anthologies of poetry in my collection. https://www.bartleby.com/lit-hub/a-library-...
