Re: SOLO: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse-ag

Sorry for the late PL, a bunch of my projects submitted files for PL at once. But I got to chapter 5. Quite a turn in this story! 5:36 – stumble (b-hidden) 12:10 – heard ‘neck’ instead of ‘cheek’ 14:09 – heard ‘silent’ instead of ‘slight’ 21:06 – this sentence has multiple stumbles/repeats 24:55-25:...

Re: [SOLO] Midnight by Rutherford G Montgomery-mas

Wonderful! I listened to the first chapter. You read it so well. I especially love Sam's voice. All is PL OK, except one tiny thing. At the end of the chapter, you read 'End of [Chapter]', as instructed. However, the brackets around 'Chapter' mean that you are supposed to insert the chapter name/num...

Re: [SOLO] Midnight by Rutherford G Montgomery-mas

Cool, thanks. Here's the first chapter: 18:42 https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/midnight_01_montgomery_128kb.mp3 Yay! I will listen tomorrow. In the meantime, I saw that you got into the MW. Great! Have you figured out how to enter the chapter links, time, and update the PL status? Ask if...

Re: [SOLO] Raspberry Jam by Carolyn Wells - ke

Lovely recording! I think I can't make too many guesses yet until we get the autopsy back. I do think Aunt Abby saw the murderer, and the watch will be the solution. Also, whatever text to speech thing combined with Speechling seems to have worked wonderfully! I still have a few notes, but overall i...

Re: SOLO: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse-ag

The "sneaker" sound..... at present, in Chicagoland (where I am) it is Smoke Detector Mating season, where each of the dectectors try to attract eachother by chirping endlessly. I have changed the batteries in every smoke detector in the house, but still they talk on.... I will continue to try to f...

Re: SOLO: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse-ag

Videos would be good! When I find a volume jump, I usually decrease the louder one a bit and increase the quieter one a bit to smooth the volumes. If the jump is large then I do this in stages to make a gradual transition. However, in cases like chapter 3, I would decrease the entire first half and ...

Re: SOLO: Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse-ag

Today I only managed to listen to chapter 3. Text wise it was fine. Unfortunately, the volume was a bit hectic. Even if you use the compressor, the major volume gaps will need to be manually fixed. The main jump is around the half point, where it is loud the first half and quiet the second half. I m...

Re: [SOLO] Raspberry Jam by Carolyn Wells - ke

Another thing that I do to make the editing smooth, is to listen and repeat (imitate) a part of what I said then continue the rest of the sentence. You know how we get a preview with Punch and Roll, I don't only listen to it but say it out loud to have a similar voice as I can. When I fix PL errors...

Re: [SOLO] Midnight by Rutherford G Montgomery

I'm going to address that you mentioned chapters in it. I may not be understanding you, but it sounds like you are trying to record each chapter in a separate track? The only problem with that is each track will be part of the same file. So, in order to have them separated, you would need a new wind...

Re: (Solo) - Goops and How to Be Them by Gelett Burgess - icequeen

Thank you both. I will pass on your encouragement to LittlePeanut. She listens to many Librivox recordings, and she is so happy to be able to make some of her own. We need to record in little chunks, so the consistency is hard to achieve. I appreciate you pointing out the parts that need to be fixe...

Re: TROUBLE UPLOADING 1-MINUTE TEST(STUDIO ONE)

I did a quick Google search, apparently you cannot export as an MP3 in Studio One unless you upgrade it or buy a converter. I don't know if you already have it upgraded, but if not that could be the reason.

The MW looks perfect!

Wonderful recording! You are a perfect reader for this story. Only a few notes:

11:48 – crackling sound

13:14 – heard ‘trendals’ instead of ‘tendrils’

Re: (Solo) - Goops and How to Be Them by Gelett Burgess - icequeen

This is so awesome! LittlePeanut reads this so amazingly. I love how she dramatizes the lines. Anyways, a few tiny notes/questions. Let me know what you think! 0:19 – I have a small question here. She said ‘Gelett Burgess’ as the author, which matches with the author in the book. But in the first p...
